In the eyes of someone who grew up in the United States, it’s hard to think of 1980s car more iconic than the Fox Body Ford Mustang. It may not have been the fastest, most advanced or sexiest car of the decade, but I don’t think there are many car people in the States that [...]

One of the many perks of being a Speedhunter is getting to drive fancy press cars, and out of all the ones that my rear end has graced, I’d have to say the Mustang RTR was the most fun. Back in November, our fearless leader Rod Chong (having also driven the RTR) and I met [...]

I’m often asked what I like most about being a Speedhunter. There are many answers to that question, but naturally it’s the constant exposure to cars that comes to mind first. My colleagues and I spend most of our waking moments (and many of our sleeping ones) thinking about cars. We never stop thinking about photographing them, driving them, building them, or writing about them. On top of that, what I like most is that we aren’t locked into one particular genre or style of car.

First impressions are funny things; in mere seconds our minds subconsciously develop lasting opinions. While these initial judgements are easily formed in moments, they take much longer and are exceedingly more difficult to change. When you come across a car covered in a brilliant red chrome it’s pretty hard not to take notice and, subsequently, [...]

There are few cars with a cult following as great as Chevrolet’s Camaro. Its reputation even transcends car enthusiasts and is recognized the world over not only as a machine, but as a symbol of America. It’s become a pop culture icon as well and it’s made countless appearances in television, movies and even had [...]

Where to start? That was the question that lingered in my mind when it came time to write up the feature on Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s Team NFS RTR-X. Unlike a lot of the cars we feature here on Speedhunters, the RTR-X is something that many of you are already familiar with – whether you followed [...]

Over the past few years I’ve lost count of how many drag races and drag cars I’ve photographed, but I’ve always been meaning to shoot one that was Australian born. That changed when I visited Mercury Motorsport, where I came across this stunning 1981 VC Commodore. Purchased two years ago by John Desmond, this Commodore is no [...]

When the first Pro Touring cars hit the scene in the 1990s, the idea was simple. Take the timeless style of a vintage Muscle Car and make it perform like a modern machine. Not only was a Pro Touring car built to be an all around performer, it was also built to eat up miles [...]

If there’s one thing to be said about the internet, it is the fact that it has made the world, no, the universe a smaller place –a much, much smaller place. With the simple click of a mouse, you can be instantly teleported to China, England, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea or to our neighboring [...]

A few days ago, we looked at the detailed build process and saw what exactly influenced the exterior styling of the ’70 Spectre Camaro. Now, here is the completed car. Quite a drastic change from the yellow car it once was, no? Let’s first talk about the engine. The original motor was swapped out for an LS1, which was [...]

While walking the rain soaked ADRL paddock of Texas Motorplex, I saw many amazing drag machines. Many sported very bright liveries that were either airbrushed on or had some amazing paint work. But for some reason, this flat black 3rd generation Camaro stuck out to me as the most badass looking out of the whole [...]

Twenty minutes was all that I needed. Actually, scratch that. It was that first spirited corner which convinced me. The other nineteen minutes and fifty-eight seconds was a pounding-the-point-into-my-cranium experience. I was sitting passenger in a car that would normally cower at the brief mention of anything corner related. But not this 1968 Chevy Camaro [...]

The Mustang RTR-C is simply a far-fetched dream of mine that came true thanks to the hard work and dedication from everyone that I teamed up with for the project. While it started as a one-off SEMA project and a sick street car for me to rock, it has spawned into something much bigger and has [...]

Ok let's take a little break from our July drifting fixation and look at a very different type of modified car: the Killer Customs built 1966 Pro Touring style Chevy Nova. Those of you who have been around American cars for the past few decades will know that the big trend in hot rods and [...]
