Thanks to my fellow Speedhunters Andy and Rod we can see the R35's that were present during the Sema show. I will make another User Ranking post out of this because the first one was a success. We saw that the muscle cars were very popular at Sema, but I'm not really into those kind of cars so I'm glad I can show you these Nissan's. I felt that Sema was a bit too early to really make the R35 stand out. There is not a whole lot available except carbon lips, exhausts and a bodykit made...

Real quick before I head out to Long Beach today... I thought I'd post up some eye candy for you guys. Here are some of my favorite girls from the SEMA Show this year... There was consistently a big crowd around the Falken Tire booth - was it because of their new products? Or maybe it was because of their 2009 Falken Girl All-Star lineup...? On the left we have Lindsay, a new Falken girl, and everyone's favorite Nihonjin... Eri Moriyama. But let's take it back to the old school! Let's...

Ok last SEMA post for me… I’m on yet another plane and will be landing in a few hours to meet our British photographic sensei John Brooks at the Los Angeles airport. We’ll then saunter over to Shelby LA to pick up the NFS edition Shelby Terlingua. This will be followed by a blast up the I5 to Button Willow Raceway, to see the USA’s top Time Attack cars in action. Should be good! Anyway, back to the subject at hand…. Last week I was marching from one side of the SEMA...

I first noticed this Chevolet Impala at SEMA 2007, where it was parked up in front of the Las Vega Convention Center. I took the opportunity, to take a pile of photos of the car, but at the time didn’t really have an outlet, other than my personal Facebook page. As you can imagine, I was very delighted to see the Impala on display at the Mother’s Wax booth at SEMA this year. Unfortunatley, there was no info board on display so I can’t tell you any details about the build or the...

A lot of people in the Hot Rod world don’t like the term “Rat Rod”….. to them this usually means a car of poor build quality which is unsafe for any sort of road use. It can also mean a car that only half pretends to be a return to traditional purist rodding styles… or perhaps a counter-reaction to blinged out “cheque-book Rods” Another term coming into use is “Suicide Rod”. These are Hot Rods that have taken the look and feel of old school...

As I type this blog entry I’m mashed up into the economy section of a rather medium sized airplane. SEMA is an amazing experience, but it is pretty tiring and I’m definitely in need of a proper night’s sleep… I’m well pleased to be heading home.
Anyway, let’s jump in to looking at some more cars from the show floor to see what we can see:...

The first thing you see upon arrival to the Las Vega Convention Center, is a rather large and diverse collection of customized, modified and competition cars. Today, I spent a bit of time wandering about with the NFS team's trusty Canon digital SLR camera, to give you a feel for the variety of machines on show....

Live and direct from the SEMA show, here are some more photos for you to check out... this Porsche at the Toyo booth was definitely turning some heads! This 2001 996 turbo is owned by David Huang, and was apparently built up in only 30 days! (Obviously, he was collecting parts for it all year though) Don't recognize the face? Either did I - apparently it's outfitted with the exclusive Top Secret (yes, Top Secret from Japan) Porsche aero kit, painted with Mazoora white paint, with blue pearl...

Today for me was all about getting ready for the Formula Drift press conference and the big announcement of our own " mega event ": Need for Speed LIVE . It will see us bringing together an international roster of the world's top drifters, race, production, and time attack cars to do battle in the UK next June. The project has already been one year in the making, I'm quite excited that we've now able to reveal a little bit about it! So if you were to choose what Time Attack...

Now its my turn to post! I'm here in Las Vegas on Need for Speed business, collecting reference for future projects, but thought I would squeeze in a Speedhunter post or two. I have been to the last four SEMA shows and its a real love-hate affair for me! SEMA is huge, although with the economic problems, it is smaller than last year. If you are armed with a camera, it will take you a good 3-4 days to see the whole show, so by the end of the week, I can't wait to leave, tired and worn out...

While I was navigating my way through the SEMA Show yesterday, I spent most of the morning yawning from lack of enthusiasm for the cars I was looking at. The first hall I went through had me rolling my eyes pretty frequently - I was certainly disappointed with the lack of style on the cars in the first hall I walked through. So imagine my surprise when I came across this Scion TC. I'm not even the biggest fan of the TC; everyone knows I'm an FR car guy. However, I just had to give supreme...

It seems that part of the life of a Speedhunter is that you need to learn to keep finding new ways to increase your productivity. "Go! go! go!" is the operative term. So with this in mind I am going to jump straight in to talking about my day 1 experiences at SEMA. I'll try and walk you through my entire day on the show floor... This is the first time BTW I've messed with one of the EA digital SLRs that we have kicking about the studio. Figured it was about time for me to do a bit...

With the SEMA show in Vegas this week, there will be plenty of big news coming out of the tuning and motorsport world. Our first bit of news this week comes from Falken Tire who have announced their 2009 drift team with a number of changes and additions. Falken Tire is the biggest and longest-running supporter of pro drifting in the US, and they are going to be taking things even further next year....

Most of the members of Team Falken will tell you that 2008 was a pretty tough year for them. Mechanical gremlins and delayed race car builds certainly pushed their stamina limits over the course of the season. None the less, they continue to be one of the most popular teams in Formula Drift. Go to any Formula Drift meeting and you'll find that there's always a big crowd around Team Falken's pit area. There is a real reason for this in my opinion. These guys continually give to the sport of drifting like no other team does. They are a perfect reflection of the true ethos of drift culture....
