I'm very pleased to write this post, as a big fan of French race driver Yvan Muller and admin of SEATCupra.net, the largest SEAT enthusiast forum on the net. The final round of the FiA World Touring Car Championship took place in Macau earlier in November. Going into the final round, Muller and team mate, Gabriele Tarquini were the only drivers able to clinch the crown. Muller clinched the championship, after finishing third in race one. Chevrolet driver Alain Menu won the race with out-going...

Sébastien Loeb staked his claim to a place in rallying’s record books recently by clinching an unprecedented fifth consecutive FIA World Rally Championship. Third place for Loeb’s Citroën C4 WRC in Rally Japan, the penultimate round of the 2008 season, was enough to put the title out of reach of his rivals. Loeb and his co-driver, Daniel Elena, now hold a unique record, as their five titles eclipse the previous record of four that they shared with Juha Kankkunen and Tommi...

Some more vintage goodness from the Nissan archive here. This shot was taken in the rain at Fuji Speedway during the opening round of the Fuji Grand Championship Series in March, 1972. By this point the GT-R race cars had switched from the four-door PGC10's featured in yesterday's post to the newer and sleeker KPGC10 coupes like this one. This #15 car was driven by the legendary racer Kunimitsu Takahashi and is probably the world's most well known Hakosuka Skyline. The KPGC10 in the UK that appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a replica of this car....

This weekend was D1 Street Legal Rd.6 at Sekia Hills down in Kyushu and one of the newsworthy items from the event was the D1SL debut of Tsuyoshi Tezuka in this freshly completed ER34 Skyline coupe. The car has a good look to it and I think it supplements his yellow R32 D1 machine quite well. Tezuka was able to score third place in the competition which was a very good result for the car's first run. And the winner of the event? Our own Naoto Suenaga who added another win to his dominant year in D1 Street Legal. There is just one round left which will happen next month at Tsukuba Circuit and I can't wait to see what happens for myself. Of course you can expect full coverage here on Speedhunters. Congrats to both Naoto and Tezuka!...

Being in Japan has given me the opportunity to see a lot of record-breaking tuner cars like the HRS Cyber Evo and Top Fuel S2000, but there is always something great about seeing a non-Japanese company do amazing things with a Japanese car. This NSX was built by Love Fab Motorsports in Buckley, Michigan, a company with many years of experience in custom turbo kits for all sorts of cars. On a recent trip to the dyno, this fully built turbocharged NSX put down an astonishing 921 RWHP and 641 ft. lbs of torque. I'd say there is little reason to doubt Love Fab's claim that this is the most powerful NSX in the world. ...

The final three rounds of the British Touring Car Championship take place this weekend. Current champion, Fabrizio Giovanardi (Vauxhall) leads Jason Plato by 44 points. Gio' needs just 9 points to take the championship, but SEAT has been the quicker car in the second half of the season after SEAT Sport UK found a good set up. SEAT still have some reliability issues. This would, in theory, put SEAT in a great position for next season, but in a bizarre decision which shocked UK Motorsport last week...

Regular Speedhunters will remember we touched on the 'Rally Finland' round of the World Rally Championship last week . The Ouninpohja stage may have been destroyed, but there were plenty of other jumps as you can see. The Rally took place over last weekend and Sebastien Loeb finally broke his duck, winning at this tough event. Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena is only the third non-Scandinavian to have won this blue ribboned event. The win takes Loeb within one point of the lead of the Championship...

ESPN's 'X' Games took place last weekend in Carson, California. The X Games is an annual event which focuses on extreme action sports. This stunning picture shows Ken Block landing hard, damaging his Subaru Impreza radiator in this incident. This enabled eventual winner, Travis Pastrana to beat Ken in the Semi Finals and then win the Rally based (its not real rallying!) element of the games. The World Rally Championship is a shadow of its former self, not helped by constant changes to rules, regulations, calendar changes and classic events. Sadly, this weekends 'Rally of 1000 Lakes (I refuse to call it by its new name, Rally Finland!) has lost one of Rallying's most distinctive stages. The Ouninpohja stages are legendary as rally drivers launch themselves over the high speed jumps since the Fifties! Here is a great example from Ikka Rythönen , of Mikko Hirvonen in his Ford...
