Over the past few weeks I have been on kind of a JZS616 Aristo kick, digging up everything I can about these sexy four-doors. I have found that it's not the VIP versions that impress me so much, but the traditionally tuned versions like this one from Impact Magic which was shown at Tokyo Auto Salon this year. To me, this car is perfection. Aggressive, but not ridiculous wheels (19" Advan RS's), mild body modifications and the 600+hp TD07-fed 2JZGTE make for a perfect street-tuned sedan that should be able to run away from nearly any car on the road....

I'm an avid reader of multiple restoration and build up threads on several different forums on the World wide web. I really like it when a user is willing to share his precious metal and documents his build. This Hakosuka you see was bought in Japan and imported to Sydney Australia it is being restored by one of the moderators on the Japanese Nostalgic Car forum. The way he documents his build is really impressive and on top of that he does almost everything himself. You can log on to his thread...

Toyota and Lexus are known for making some great luxury sedans, but Nissan is right up there with them. Check out this Nissan Fuga 450GT (Infiniti M45 elsewhere) sitting low on a set of 20" BBS LM wheels in Osaka. In stock form these cars are already pretty cool, and with just a few minor mods they make for some of the coolest luxury sedans anywhere. Personally, I really dig this simpler style as opposed to the more aggressive VIP sedans. I have noticed that BBS LM's have been getting REALLY popular from the VIP crowd here in Japan and it's pretty easy to see why when looking at cars like this....

Because it is Nissan month I will be making a few random snaps with Nissans only and other Nissan related posts. First up is this S13 that Mike could have taken during one of his visits to Tsukuba or a similar race track in Japan. At first I was not sure which side of the car I would post because I'm a sucker for the rear of a car. In the end I decided to go with the front. The wheels are a set of Volk Racing CE28n, just look at the fitment in the rear, that's close to perfection right? I...

I was just talking about first gen Lexus GS300s (JZS147) with my good friend Chris Manacop ; soon after our conversation, he emailed me a photo he shot of this black JZS147 GS300, which has been refreshed with a new black paint job, Wald aero kit, and Japanese OEM Aristo 3-piece taillight conversion. Very nice - simple and clean is my favorite style, so I think this GS looks pretty good! Don't you guys think so? I don't know what's under the hood of this car, but it seems to me that this...

I just wanted to share this photo with you guys before I forgot... check out this old school Toyota Century that I spotted at JCCS in Irvine. I really dig this car - it has all the makings of an awesome old school street cruiser. This Century's low stance, gold Enkei 92 mesh wheels, and clean, original bodylines just bring one thought to my mind... "damn, that looks gangster!" Yeah yeah, people who think in proper book vocabulary or "the Queen's English" might roll their...

I don't think there is race series that Manabu "Max" Orido hasn't tried his hand at. The latest addition to his resume is driving a factory-backed Chevrolet Lacetti in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. In stock form the Daewoo-based Lacetti is not high on the the "desired" cars list and in fact it is currently used by Top Gear is the "reasonably" priced car which celebs thrash around their test track. The WTCC-spec Lacetti on the other hand, is quite a different beast packing 270hp and all the other cool stuff usually found on touring cars. Orido is the first Japanese driver to appear in the WTCC and his most recent race was in front of his countrymen at last weekend's Okayama race. Now he can add WTCC to a list that already includes everything from D1GP and Formula D to Super GT, NASCAR, and LeMans....

I moved to a new apartment in a different city not too long ago, and it seems that there are some serious BMW affiniados here. I have seen a lot of BMW 02's lately, I have really started to like these cars. I remember Antonio found a BMW 2002 when we were in Spa to shoot the 24hrs race, he showed me some pictures on his camera and since then I have been looking for some nice examples in the neighborhood. The car in the picture is based in Australia and rocks some solid go fast parts like the...

I just can't stop staring at this photo, the car looks so good in so many ways. The gold wheels, they look like 18", together with the Fujita Engineering Version 2 bodykit are a perfect match with the classic lines of the FD RX7. I know some you purists don't want to see any bodykit on a RX7, but I feel that the Fujita Kit pulls it off nicely. What do you guys consider the best bodykit for the FD? -Jeroen Willemsen Fujita Engineering

This wheel was spotted on a Nissan S15 during a Australian car show. The car has the best of both worlds, it sports some serious power and has some nice parts to show it off. The most striking part of the car are the wheels, they are a set of Gram Lights 57s-pro with a titanium coated outer edge. These wheels will give you some serious styling points on any carshow. The picture was taken by Felix Alim -Jeroen Willemsen Gram Lights , spotted on the racer86 blog

I know that it's currently "Southern Cali month" on Speedhunters, but I just wanted to mention this cool event I heard about on the East Coast! Wouldn't it be cool if you could go road racing in your own car, for FREE? You can't get anything for free these days (except for the cool stories and photos you get from Speedhunters.com ). In fact, I heard that even those "free credit reports" online aren't really free - in order to get them, you have to agree to receive...

How much do you really need to make a car look good? According to this picture not a whole lot. Just put on some wide wheels, adjust your camber and drop it like it's hot (yeah I know it's lame but it's true). Does anyone know this car? Or has more pictures of it? I would love to see more of it. You can put on all sorts of crazy bodykits but with the right wheels and offset you have a instant winner. -Jeroen Willemsen Spotted on the JDM Style Tuning forum

Lately I have been thinking about how fun it would be to take a quick vacation down to Okinawa, AKA the "Hawaii of Japan". There's just something about the clear ocean water, and soothing shamisen music I always see on TV that makes me want to hop on a plane for a little visit. Car-wise, Okinawa is not quite the same as the mainland, but they do get a few events there. The photo was taken at this month's Yokohama Drift Meeting at Nago Circuit which included a number of D1 drivers ferried their cars to the island for a drift exhibition. You can see Testsuya Hibino, Yashio Factory Oka-chan, and NOB Taniguchi taking part in this four-car tandem run in front of the fans gathered at Nago....

Ben Schaffer from The Real JDM had some interesting posts regarding rear mounted radiators. I have featured a few cars with the same setup. Ben posted a few pictures of the Top Secret build V12 Supra. This car also has a rear mounted radiator but instead of removing all the interior parts, this car still has all the luxuries. ‘Smokey' Nagata made a real effort to build a car that is still drivable on a daily basis and looks good doing so. This car really pushes the boundaries on many levels...

Subaru enthusiasts can get pretty crazy about rallying, and to illustrate that point, check out this Subaru Sambar kei truck that has been decked out in full '08 Subaru WRC livery complete with a rally style rear spoiler, roof scoop, roll bar, and what look to be Prodrive wheels. Even better, the custom body work has added Impreza-like fender flares to both the front and the rear. It looks like a ton of work has gone into building this and I just wonder if someone is going to do up a Ralliart style Mitsubishi Minicab kei truck to compete with it?...

I'm not a big fan of the Subaru Impreza, but I do see a lot of potential in them. Especially when they are mated with a set of classic BBS wheels. I really like the stance of this car, and I feel that the BBS RS can make any car look good. I also saw a red Impreza with gold BBS wheels, but that combination didn't worked well. The black of this Impreza together with the silver of the wheels looks much better. What do you think about this setup? -Jeroen Willemsen Spotted on JDM Style Tuning

Maybe some of you guys will recognize this car. It used to be white and it had green wheels. The car was build and campaigned by Dentsport out of Boston. In 2006 and 2007 the car won the GT Live Red Line Time Attack event running in the rear wheel drive unlimited class. Dentsport is trying to do the same this year. The event will be held this weekend on the 3 rd till the 5 th of October. I wish them good luck. The car has had some extensive custom work and it's an ongoing project. This week they...

I know the Lotus Elise as a lightweight car that is very competitive on the circuit when pushed hard. I see them quite often because they are very popular and you get a lot of bang for the buck. Most of the cars are left standard and are driven by guys who are in their mid-life crisis, at least in Holland. But luckily for us there are exceptions because some people add some Japanese flavor to the mix. This Elise is rocking some insane cool looking Work Meisters with a perfect fitment. The carbon...
