I haven't featured a lot of Mazda's on Speedhunters previously, but that's about to change with this post. I found some incredible pictures made by Brian Munro at a local Rotary meet in Kobe, Japan. He used a technology called HDR to give the pictures this amazing look. I'm don't like it when photographers over do HDR, but Brian has hit the spot just right.
Let's have a look at all the rotary's from the car meet. The car in the opening picture looks like it belongs to a RE Amemiya customer. It has a nice RE bodykit and by the looks of it, a set of Enkei wheels. When I scan all the photo's on Brian's Flickr page and it seemed that these wheels are a crowd favorite amongst Japanese Mazda lovers....

A Custom Car expert and JDM enthusiast born and living in the wrong country. Well, that pretty much sums up Rik Hoving and me. A few weeks ago, Rod told me he had a special assignment for me. There was a guy living in Holland that had built up the largest internet Custom Car photo collections anywhere. I'm not a person who is an expert on these American Customs but because Rik lives in Holland it meant that the communication was much easier. Another cool thing was that I could learn a thing or...

Through my experiences photographing and writing about cars, I have been introduced to a lot of really interesting people who come from a lot of different backgrounds. One of them is Jae Bueno and his blog www.jaebueno.com. I first remember looking at the photos in his Flickr gallery and being very impressed with the quality and vibrancy with which they portray the Southern California automotive life. With our focus on SoCal this month, we thought it would be a fine time to showcase Jae and a little bit of his photographic work....

There is no doubt regarding the popularity of drifting these days and there's no shortage of websites devoted to providing photographic coverage of drift events from around the world. One of our most liked and respected sites in this field is Doristars.com, a site which has been providing high quality photos of the UK drift scene since 2001. Starting with the goal of providing a photographic history of drifting in the UK and expanding the following of the sport to a larger audience, Doristars now has nearly 10,000 photos in their collection. Doristars content that spans the course of seven years and includes everything from early UK grassroots events to the latest action in the EDC and elsewhere. While looking through the Doristars galleries, you can watch the history UK drifting unfold before your eyes......

When I'm not out photographing events or posting on Speedhunters,I like to browse through Flickr on the lookout for impressive or interesting automotive photos, and sometimes I come across some truly spectacular work. A good example of the fantastic photos I'm talking about are these ones from Irishman "Mole2K". He has assembled a great collection of dramatic photos that span many different Irish rally events......

With all of the oldschool JDM that Rod has been posting up lately, I thought I would balance things out with some '80s Euro flavor. These photos were taken by Milko Konttinen of Fourtitude.com at the Ingolstadt Quattro Meeting back in 2005. I have never seen so many mean-looking old school Audi's in one place. Check out the Fourtitude site for more Audi madness and some great photography. Fourtitude.com -Mike Garrett

Things didn't look very good for the pole sitting Manthey Racing Porsche at the green flag of the Nurburgring 24H race. As the green flag fell the car started to belch huges amount of steam and had to immediatly dive for the pits for repairs to its cooling system. Not a great way to start a 24h race. I'm quite impressed they were able to fight back to take the win. Congrats to them!...

The return of the Nissan GT-R to the Super GT Series may be old news, but that doesn't mean that the sight of a Super GT spec GT-R no longer gets one's blood pumping. Courtesy of Nissan's press department, we have a few fantastic shots of the GT-R teams in action during the Fuji Speedway race earlier this month. These particular photos do a fantastic job of portraying the excitement of a Super GT race. Looking at the photos, you can almost hear the cars as they scream by the camera. A...
