Thanks to a tip from Matt who is one of our readers, we found a few pics of the Rahal Letterman BMW M3 ALMS test session at Road Atlanta last week. This marked the North American debut of the BMW which will be making its competition debut in the GT2 class at the upcoming Sebring race. The car has been seen at a lot of auto shows this year, and its nice to finally see it out on the track. Just look at it! Is this car not one of the toughest looking ALMS cars out there?...

Recently, my wife Lea and I just acquired a 2001 BMW E46 M3. This has been forever Lea’s dream car and I have always been a fond BMW fan. Back around 1999-2000 before I had FD’s, I owned an ’88 E30 M3 that I loved, truly a BMW motorsport classic. So we decided to give up our trusty S14 240sx that we had for over 6 years and move on to something a bit more mature and classy. CAR SPOTLIGHT>>LS1-POWERED M3 PROJECT

I was browsing through the Car Lounge forum on VWVortex when I came across a thread with buildup photos of an LS1-powered E36 M3 in Idaho. When the owner found out that his M3 had a bent frame, he purchased a new one and then began to convert the old chassis into a V8-powered track/drift car. The car's LS1 is sporting mild modifications at this point, but the addition of nitrous is planned in the future. The majority of the building is done and just a few finishing touches are still needed to complete the project....

RANDOM SNAP>> THE POWER OF THREE

A Lexus IS-F, AMG Mercedes C63 and BMW M3... We saw these three cars parked up together as we were leaving Nurburg the other day for Belgium... what are the chances to find three competing performance coupes of the same class snuggled up next to one other? A comparison road test perhaps? Which do you like best? I think I'd take the M3....

Are BMW's the future of JDM tuning? You might think so after seeing the the dozens of customized Bimmers packed into the Makuhari Messe during the Tokyo Special Import Car Show. Japanese tuners that formerly made parts for domestic cars only are rapidly introducing new products aimed at the BMW market. A few of them have even launched all new brands that cater only to BMW owners. Walking around the SIS, I couldn't help but be amazed by the quality of the BMW's on display. I really liked...
