Thanks to my fellow Speedhunters Andy and Rod we can see the R35's that were present during the Sema show. I will make another User Ranking post out of this because the first one was a success. We saw that the muscle cars were very popular at Sema, but I'm not really into those kind of cars so I'm glad I can show you these Nissan's. I felt that Sema was a bit too early to really make the R35 stand out. There is not a whole lot available except carbon lips, exhausts and a bodykit made...

Time for a little more Nissan goodness from the archive as I post up a few of the track-tuned Skyline GT-R's I've spotted at Tsukuba Circuit over the past year. There is no place where a GT-R is more at home than running around a track like Tsukuba. It is surely one of the best places in Japan to see tuned GT-R's at their best. The car has stood the test of time and even the oldest BNR32 GT-R models are still found in abundance at Japan's racing circuits. Nearly seven years after they disappeared from the market, the original RB26-powered GT-R is still one of the quintessential Japanese performance cars....

The other day when I was in Tokyo, I decided I would try a new type of post here on Speedhunters. I was actually remembering my first trip to Japan and just how excited I was to see random cars on the street, and though it might be kind of cool to show what kind of stuff you see "in the wild" on Japanese streets. If you guys like this sort of thing, let me know and I will do it more often. Events and races are great, but there is always something kind of special about seeing an a cool car on the street....

Here's an interesting piece of news for Nissan Month. The rumorists at Japan's Best Car Magazine are now speculating that Nissan may release an ultra limited production Le Mans edition of the R35 GT-R. With roots going back to the old school LM R33's, the new car will supposedly push out out somewhere around 600hp and include a number of other upgrades from the "standard" GT-R. In addition to the street car, an actual competition car is also said to be in the works for Le Mans. If this rumor turns out to be true, the car will be even faster than the upcoming V-spec model. Of course you can't take these rumors all too seriously, but I don't think it would be too surprising considering what Nissan has already done with the GT-R....

The eventful 2008 season of Super GT is now in the books. The final race of the year was held yesterday at Fuji Speedway under and despite the not-so unusual cloudy weather, things were looking bright for the Nissan GT-R teams that were aiming to finish off their season of dominance by taking the GT500 drivers championship. From the photos, it looks like the stands at Fuji were packed. According to Super GT, 47,100 race fans braved the cold and cloudy weather to watch the final race of 2008....

The end of the 2008 Super GT season is almost here, and following this past Sunday's race at Autopolis, there is just one event left on the schedule. Fans and race teams were greeted with sunny and pleasant fall weather at the track which is located on Japan's southern main island of Kyushu and is one of the nicest race tracks in the country. It has been great year in Super GT for the NIssan teams who have campaigned their new GT-R's to a number of victories. Things were already looking good for the GT-R at Autopolis as the Nismo Xanavi GT-R would be starting from the pole in the GT500 class....

Just a few weeks after the big Suzuka race that Rod and Antonio were at, the Super GT Series was in action again this past weekend at Twin Ring Motegi in Tochigi Prefecture a couple hours north of Tokyo. Teams and fans were greeted with clear, dry weather and it would turn out to be a very exciting race, particularly in the GT300 class where there was an amazing come-from-behind victory....

The KPGC10 is one of my all time favorite cars. The car is the true first GT-R and is almost 40 years old. When looking at the engine bay of the car in the picture it looks like it just came from the factory. It features some very cool parts like the individual throttle bodies and the exhaust manifold. The S20 engine belongs to the original KPGC10 and is a six cylinder engine with 160hp in standard form. With the help of the ITB's and the other bits I think this car will have around 200hp. These...

Mine's; A Japanese household name in tuning, made famous by numerous Hot Version and Best Motoring DVD's. We all remember the battle between the Amuse Supra and Mine's R34; the battle of the straight inline six. The mastermind behind Mine's is Michizo Niikura. He started his career at Bridgestone but turned his attention to tuning cars. Established in 1985, Mine's makes parts for the Skyline R34, Lancer EVO, Impreza WRX and the 350Z. Mine's have had a lot of success with their...

Following our Exclusive image last week, we have more details on the new Falken sponsored Ford GT-R, which had a relatively successful debut in the American Le Mans Series last weekend. Drivers, Anthony Lazzaro and Tim Pappas, finishing 8th in highly competitive GT2 class. It didn't set the world alight, but this new car has little development and no factory backing from Ford. In addition, the team only received the car on the morning of practice! The Ford GT-R was born in March 2006 when Oliver...

This past weekend was a busy one for time attack action around the world. In addition to the inaugural Australian Super Lap event, we also saw the fourth round of the UK Time Attack series at Oulton Park. All accounts say that this round was the most challenging of the Time Attack season so far and the weather should be to blame for that one. In typically strange fashion, the weather during the event would go back and forth from sunny to rainy seemingly instantly. Thanks to Lee Chungster who was trackside at Oulton Park, we have some great photos from the event. Looking through thees photos, you would think the "dry" photos and the "wet" photos were taken on different days......

First it was Japan followed by the USA and UK, and now its Australia's turn to jump into the time attack world. This past Saturday saw the first round of the Australian Super Lap series held on the challenging Grand Prix course at Oran Park Circuit. As expected, our good friend Matthew Mead was there to shoot this inaugural event. If this first event is anything to go by, it looks the sport of time attack has a very bright future in Australia......

The Audi TT is known in general as a hair dressers car, but when I first layed my eyes on this example I had to adjust my opinion about the TT. This is not your ordinary Audi TT, the owner decided that the stopping power of the standard brakes weren't enough so he opted for a new brake assembly from the new Nissan GT-R. I already saw a R35 brake swap being done on a R32 GT-R by Endless-R but this is the first Euro car that I saw with the same swap. Tuning Powerhouse Esprit was the one that provided...

As the time attack movement continues to spread around the world, we want to showcase some of the different series and the types of cars that can be found in them. What better place to start than in the UK where the Time Attack Championship is done on a greater scale than anything in the United States or even Japan, the so-called "birthplace" of time attack as a motorsport......

This weekend saw Super GT's annual venture outside of Japan to Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for the fourth round of the '08 season. It would also mark the new Nissan GT-R's first trip to the Malaysian Super GT race. As usual, the race was held under blazing hot tropical weather that would put strain on both the crews and the machines. In the end, it was the GT-R that would be on top. The Woodone Advan Clarion GT-R driven by Seiji Ara and Joao Paulo Lima De Oliveira overtook...

Knowing Honda, it's not a surprise that they aren't content to sit and watch Nissan and Lexus own the Japanese supercar game. As these recent spy shots show, Honda is working full steam ahead on the next generation NSX. Although heavily obscured, you can still make out the overall body shape of the new car which will aim right for the Nissan GT-R and the Lexus LF-A......

I was scanning one of the GT-R forums, NAGTROC over lunch, when I came across this stunning Matte Black R35 from Singapore. I havent seen those LED lights in the lower bumper before. Thanks to the power of the Internet, the owner, 'lung007' was advised of the thread and was able to clarify that the car is wrapped in matte black vinyl material. Having stickered up many cars, thats an impressive wrap. No wonder it took 6 days! The Photography from vanqphotography is stunning and the composition...

Bee*R is one of those companies that is famous for one thing, building bad ass Skyline's. Their best known car is the yellow D1GP R324, the base car is a R32 but Bee*R has made a body kit conversion so that the front of the car looks like a R34. The entire body kit conversion was designed and perfected in house. The R33 you see here is a bit different than we would normally see from Bee*R. This car was built as a road legal circuit car. One of the things I learned when building a circuit car...
