At last year's Rev Speed Tsukuba Super Battle tuned versions of the Nissan GT-R were seen by many for the first time. This year Nissan has another new sports car on the market, with the new Fairlady Z34 and both Mine's and MCR brought their new Z's out to this year's event for some shakedown laps around the course. These Z's were delivered less than a week before the event and are already equipped with a number of tuning parts. I guess that goes to show just how hardcore Japan's tuner shops are....

For those who were waiting to see them, here are some photos from the very first " Grip Day " event at Willow Springs, put on by Drift Association , the same people who brought us the ever popular Drift Day events, which changed the traditional scene of grassroots motorsports by making them more fun, youthful, and dare I say it, diverse! Okay, okay, I know this event happened last week, but I think the pics are better late than never! Haha! Big thanks to Naoki Kobayashi and the Grip Day...

The new Z34 only debuted a few weeks ago, but tuned versions are already starting to come out. Established companies like ZELE and MCR have tuned Z34's in the works, and Nismo just debuted their S-Tune packages for the JDM Fairlady Z. There will be two packages offered, the S-Tune Aero, and the S-Tune Performance. As the name suggests, the S-tune aero package is limited to exterior parts and includes the aero kit seen in the photo above....

By now, many of our Speedhunters readers have probably already read my " driving impression story " on the new Nissan 370Z. However, I wanted to take a quick look back at the design similarities between the new 370Z and the old school S30-chassis 240Z. I thought it would be pretty cool to do a photo shoot showing both the new and old Zs together. However, I had a hard time finding a clean yellow Z to shoot; I wanted a yellow 240Z because our 370Z test car would be yellow as well. I called...

As many of you know, the all-new Nissan 370Z was unveiled about a week-and-a-half ago at the LA Auto Show. The unveiling of the new Z's body style was a big deal for Nissan and Z lovers alike, with lots of industry events and parties celebrating the car's launch. This week, scores of America's top automotive journalists will be traveling to Las Vegas to drive the new 370Z for the first time, at the official Nissan press event. It was awfully nice of Nissan to loan us the car before all...

Last night, I attended the Nissan 370Z launch party at J-Lounge in Downtown LA. Very fun, but after scoping out the scene, I decided I didn't really want to lug around my camera equipment in such a crowded atmosphere - especially since it was open bar. Drunk people spilling drinks on camera stuff isn't the best idea! However, prior to that, I did manage to snap a few photos at the LA Auto Show. There were tons of new cars and concepts, but I'll keep this short and sweet, and just post...

Our pals on the Need for Speed team have been very busy for the past few months collaborating with Nissan on a series of live action/in-game generated webisodes based around the 370Z. They are a joint NFS and Nissan production and feature a combination of live-action and Undercover gameplay. Based in the world of Need for Speed Undercover, Takedown follows the story of Jessica, a young lawyer with a promising career and a dangerous past. Now, a mysterious message threatens to pull her back into a...

Our friends at 7Tune have posted a ton of new info about the upcoming Nissan Fairlady Z34 AKA 370Z. According to Best Car magazine, the new Z may be getting a high performance version powered by one of Nissan's V8 engines. A factory V8-powered Z? It seems surprising at first, but when you think of all the platform sharing that goes on at Nissan its not terribly hard to fetch. This high performance version of the Z may also have a unique front fascia that pays homage to the "G-nose" that was found on the the original S30Z. The G-nose would match up quite well with the new Z's retro inspired styling. Even in more basic form, it appears that the Z34 will be quite a machine as the 3.7L V6 found in the Skyline Coupe/Infinti G37 is already a very potent unit. Combined with the rumored weight savings of the new Z, this car looks to have very high performance potential......
