Gallery>> The Titan Fia Gt1 R35

Anyone who works with me knows that I'm one of the world's most impatient people with an extremely short attention span, and a bit of an obessive mindset. This has it's uses for pushing through crazy media projects like Speedhunters, but I can also be slightly demanding to collaborate with…. Just ask UK Speedhunter John Brooks; he's been getting a daily dose of emails from me asking when we can see the completed feature on Nismo's new race car: the FIA GT1 spec R35.

John assures me the feature will be ready tomorrow…. But I just
have to show you a few more pictures… errr… now (!)… Tomorrow is an eternity to wait
isn't it? I'll have gone crazy by then without more shots of the car to
stare at.

John was telling me a little bit more about the R35 GT1 just now and I was a bit surprised to hear that the engine is based on the V8 from the Titan pickup truck. This is the same block that powers Chris Forsberg's V8 350Z drift roadster… Funny that!… I wonder though, if Chris has managed to squeeze 650 bhp out of his engine like the Nismo engineers have….

Ok John Brooks hurry up and finish your article…. 8P… I won't be able to sleep until then!

damn, it`s hot!

Any comparative lap times between the R35 and the Ford GT that is built for the new 2010 GT1 Regs?

3

@Rod..........Impatient? Demanding? Say it ain't so!

@Cypher09 Not that you can read much into the times but the R35's best was 2:05.447 and the Ford was slightly slower at 2:06.203

The exclusive coverage you Speedhunters get is outstanding. Officially my new favorite car-oriented site, hands down!

5

looks fantastic in white, isn't it?

6

Amazing!

7

WTF!! Amazing!

I live in France and i didn't know that the test happen here,damn...

Can you let me enter in the Paul Ricard circuit ,Rod?? lol ^^

8

Looks great, but I'd rather see an RB...ehm sorry, VR38 in there...;)

9

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FAAAR TOO LONG FOR THIS FEATURE....I CANT WAIT 1 MORE DAY :,(

loving the pics though so i cant complain hehe thanks Rod

10

^ they cant use forced induction

sick engine

That is pretty bad ass. I would love to see a watered down GT2 (alms) or GT3 Fia Entry. I like GT1 cars, and I feel that they are the ultimate form of production racing cars, however, GT2 cars are much more comparable to the street version of the cars they are based on, or at least they are supposed to be (cough, Rahal Letterman BMW with it's converted front suspension bullshit, cough)

I am surprised to see such a conservative wing and rear diffusor on it. Perhaps I am more accustom to the ALMS GT1 cars and FIA is little different?

I can't sleep waiting for the post ! >.<

Dammit! Every single time I see pictures of the R35, especially of those built for track like this one right here, my heart jolts. I could be tired and borred to death, gimme one picture of a monster R35 like this one and I'll get

over-excited like some 6 year old noisy-ass kid. :)))))

14

I thought you knew Rod that the R35 GT-R FIA has a VQ45 engine....and so does the GT500 in Japan.....

15

Damn, that is so beast! love the shot of the engine; HD anyone?

16

Haha Mr. Impatient!

17

+1 for HD engine shot! and any other!

I hate you Rod! im impatient too now!

Very Street-able widebody on this car. I can see producers making replica kits of this.

Well it's Friday, the last day of Skyline Week. Have you guys had enough yet? To finish off my journey through the Speedhunters archives, I've assembled a gallery highlighting some of the late model Skylines and GT-R's featured on the site
