The final Speedhunting month of 2015 is almost here, and you can bet we’ve got plenty of fresh content coming your way before the year is out. Before December kicks off though, it’s time to take a quick look at some of our favourite video finds of the past week…
Mike recently took us on a tour of Turner’s Auto Wrecking junkyard in California, and in the final post asked for the details of other places where classic cars rust in piece. Old Car City in White, Georgia, received a mention, and that reminded us of a very cool short film by Kimo Easterwood. Eerily beautiful, this 32-acre forest is the final resting home for close to 4,500 cars…
Next up it’s a new ride-along clip from Nismo TV, this time with a British Touring Car Championship icon as the subject. Powered by a hard-tuned SR20 of the naturally aspirated variety, the Nissan Primera GT was a front-runner in the late ’90s BTCC, and for this raw in-car video, Nismo driver Alex Buncombe takes it for a thrash around Silverstone circuit.
Last week Louis gave us a behind the scenes look at the making of Hoonigan’s Black Friday shopping clip, where FD Pro drivers Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck drifted around an abandoned mall in a couple of 1000hp 370Zs. If that left you wanting more, then you need to check out the 360 Experience video from Nissan, which puts the camera control in your hands for a number of sequences.
Finally this week, it’s a special episode of Hot Rod Garage. In automotive media circles the name Mark Lenardon is a familiar one, but earlier this year the talented cameraman tragically lost his life in motorcycle accident. At the time, Mark was part-way through swapping an LS1 V8 engine and T56 gearbox into his drift-spec FC Mazda RX-7, and as tribute to him, that conversion has now been completed by some of his closest friends. Watch above to see the Mazda transformed from an incomplete non-runner into a sliding machine.

I feel so out of place in the modern world sometimes, because - case in point right here - I'd rather read an article about something than watch a video about the exact same subject.

I agree with this statement. However, I feel that adding the element of hearing and seeing these cars in motion adds to the experience.
Talking of BTCC, there was quite an awesome feature in the fast ford magazine a few months of the mondeo btcc car
The LS1 swapped RX-7 build was done very well!
I really enjoyed the old car city video. You could just feel how much that place meant to those men. There is just something about being around cars that just makes life seem so much better.
