Speedhunters videos: they were once a regular accompaniment to our photo-based content, and now – for your viewing pleasure – they’re making a comeback.
We’re kicking things off with a video spotlight from our new UK-side Speedhunters videographer, Jason Laroza, about a man that mid-mounted a 160hp Suzuki GSX-R1000 sportbike engine in a 560kg (1,235lb) fibreglass Mini Minus, for nothing more than the sheer fun of tearing up backroads at 13,000rpm.
It’s geared for 130mph (209km/h) and goes 0-60mph in 4 seconds…
With its shortened height and sectioned bodywork, Andy Farmer’s rare Mini Minus was the perfect start point for this ZCars-based conversion project, and as you’ll see above when you hit the play button, it looks like a lot of fun to drive, if not a little frightening at the same time.

Can someone explain the how the shifting goes? I understand that full throttle shifts are clutchless, but do you shift like a normal car at lower speeds? i.e: No throttle, Clutch in, shift, clutch out, throttle?. or something different?
With most motorcycles, you only really need to use the clutch starting from a stop. After that, even low rpm up-shifts can be clutchless. Downshift would need to be done with a clutch and rev-matching. These type of engines have minimal rev-hang so rev-matching is a must do.
It might be different in the mini.

Can I have a suggestion for whoever made the video ?
Can we get BGM reduce to very low level when the car is running ? I love some BGM when the video is going around the car , showing what the car have ... but when the car is working , I just want to hear full car noise , no (or low) BGM .
