The Cars Of July

On the feature car front, July 2014 will was absolutely filled to the brim. The Scandinavian summer Gatebil season helped the cause, of course, but from Europe, to the USA, to Japan, global car culture was well and truly covered through full features and spotlights. But now that August has arrived it’s time to look back at the month that was July, and for you to pick your favourites. Revisit the features below and then state your case in the comments sections at the bottom of the page.

In no particular order, July’s contenders are…

Volvo 282

3

The coroner for gritty looks but modern drive
And the super amazon just blew me away in originality

4

SRT Dodge Coronet - That body can now live for ever!

5

SRT Dodge Coronet…

7

The Volvo 282. Those crazy Scandinavians have done it again!

8

Have to be loyal to our locals here... The M3 Wagon

9

The "Wangan-Blue" / Bayside Blue Skyline.... im a sucker for that beasts.

10

15

R34, I am a total sucker for GT-R's

20

I still can't decide between BMW V10-Powered Volvo 282  and V8-Powered Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Both are awesome!

21

SRT-Powered Dodge Coronet

22

Rename the Volvo v10 to the right name. 242. Not "Volvo 282"..

23

Dodge Coronet

24

Tough choice between the Galaxian and the Coronet. All of the cars from July were awesome!

25
turbo BEAMS ae86

Daruma celcia, or gatebil R34...car dont have to be so crazy all time..nice coverage tho

26

918 Cayman

27

Its a toss-up between the Coronet, Galaxian, or Amazon.....

The Coronet gets my vote!

28

The Volvo 282... It has a V10 engine from a M5 E60... What do you want more?

29

Amazon and Shoebox Ford

30

Gatebil R34 or the LanEvo3

31

sr20 toyota ke70

The Galaxian!

33
MarciDarsiMerkel

Valtonen RX-7 !

34

Without a doubt the Valtonen RX-7... when I read that article it became my new favourite car. The S13 comes a solid second.

35

CAYMAN!

36

For me it's the Coroner, followed closely by he 33 Chevy. The time-attack machines are insane as well of course.

37

Toss up between Coronet and the Amazon. If the Coronet was white, it would definitely be the winner.

38

Hakosuka Skyline/V8 Evo

39

either the V10 Volvo or the Failcrew S13, ah hell, the S13 is badass I'll take it

40

AMAZING. The Charger SRT8.

41

San-Yon.
It has been hard though. The competition was fierce.

42

R34 all the way, it's bloody amazing

43

hands down the R34!

PS...whats happened to the voting system that used to be here?!

44

Gotta be Volvo 240 for me.

45

Van

46

VOLVO 240

47

Volvo 242 or the Hakosuka in my opinion

48

My vote go for the Coronet. Every contender is amazing in form and function but the coronet make my dream a reality. Always i dreamed with an old body and a cutting edge engine and a great suspension performance...

49

The SR20 Ke70 or the Funky Racing 180sx!! Love those two cars!!

50
MathieuVouligny

Volvo Super Amazon

51

RS2

52

dodge srt

53

The Volvo Amazon for me. Top points for mating one of the best Volvos ever with one of the best BMW engines and one of the best 4WD system from a Nissan Skyline GT-R!

54

super amazon or Gatebil R34

55

The Cayman...definitely the Cayman. Although I do have to say compared to the 2012 and 13 Gatebil coverage; this month has been a tad underwhelming, we - at least I - missed the car spotlights and editorials like y'all gave us in 2013 and most of the features seemed to focus on pro built cars, where's all the magnificent home-built nonsense that made Gatebil so awesome to begin with. I by no means intend to downgrade or trivialise the stunning work Speedhunters has been doing, however i feel a bit let down this month.

56

Silvia SL13 & Fail CREW

57

Hard to decide on a single favorite but I love the Fail Crew S13 for the raw & rough look, the time attack RX7 simply due to the massive amount of engineering and technical perfection, and the Galaxy simply because how can you not?  I think I saved more images of the Galaxy than almost any car so my vote I suppose has to go towards that.

58

Very hard to deside.... Volvo 2102, isnt it the number of cylinders making the modelnumber? The idea is just so crazy, very few people in the world gets such an idea, and makes it true! Congratulations!

59

Both Volvos.

60

hard choice, but its gotta be the galaxian, for its sheer creativity and outthereness.

61

Galaxian easy

62

Daruma Celica. Take 1 part classic love,1 part up art tasteful update and sprinkle in personal style and you get to drive your life 's dream (within your budget so you have a life to drive your car in !)

63

Celica!

64

It's the Volvo 242 for me.

My goodness, July was ridiculously loaded, though. I really like the Amazon and the Coronet, but the Galaxian is just insane (the craftsmanship! and character). The rawness of the Wheelie Van is too cool. My hat's off to the cars of July, and the minds behind them.

65

BNR32 V-Spec Nurs - I love limited production models and all of the subtle yet affective touches like the fenders.

66

Voting for my comrade and his S13 from the Fail Crew.
