Shots Fired: Audi’s Welcoming Party

Have you heard about some big automobile race happening in France this weekend? You know – the one where the German sports car manufacturer is planning its triumphant return after a long absence. Well, there’s another German automaker that’s also had its fair share of success at this race, and they’ve decided to release this little video to welcome their fellow countryman back into the game.

Anyone else think motorsport needs more of this stuff?

Its nice to see car companies noticing something other than themselves.

2

Where can I watch this race (What Channel)?

3

Does anyone know if there will be a stream of the 24 hours race available?

4

Almost enough to make me like Audis. Almost.

5

r54dbnn Fox Sports One in the US (full 24 hours coverage this year).

6

Love it, the humor and "come at me bro" is perfect =P

7

I like that the tractor in the ad is a Porsche. Double shots fired.

8

Very bold, and that's exactly what more manufacturers need to be like these days.

9

very well done audi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! luv this alot this is true sportsmanship... seriously  i clapped when i watched this .... welcome back porsche !!!

10

its nice to know that vag has a sense of humor. we need more of this lol

11

Double marketing at it's finest.  Very clever and friendly ad by the VW AG (which as all enthusiast should know owns both Audi and Porsche).  I expect to see a Porsche rebuttal video sometime in the near future.

Mechne I love Porsche and Audi is brilliant at endurance, but Toyota looked good in both 6hr races with both race pace and a relatively reliable car. The Porsche team was fragile and the Audi team was slow (both the low and high downforce cars)

Toyota for the 2014 win if they minimise their hiccups.

Overtaking the Porsche tractor was a cheeky little jab :D

As stated already. Cute, but the smart money is on Toyota.

shiftyXTI IIRC the FIA WEC app for smartphones would be streaming this for a fee.  check your local cable operator too but i know Eurosport will be streaming the whole shebang :)

I love this video. If I recall rightly Porsche had a "Mission 2014" banner right opposite the Audi garage last year, so this is quite a nice payback! Hard to imagine this sort of banter in "other" top level motorsports...
Possibly a bit of cocky of Audi as they are rather on the backfoot for Le Mans, but they've won Le Mans under similar circumstances, so you can never rule them out.
Couple more hours of work then I'm heading for Le Mans: can't wait!

17

d_rav of course they do, with a name like "vag"... LOL

18

GG Audi!!!

19

Floz They're owned the same company, nothing 'bold' about it. This never would have happened if they weren't both under the same banner.

20

PhatRainbows Both brands are owned by the VW Group. That is the only reason this happened.

Awesome! I still can't believe how scary fast these cars are and seeing them on normal roads (00:18) only reinforces this.

This is why the we want to buy their cars (VW, Audi, Porsche) and not Ford, GM - well done!
