Sebastian Vettel’s New Grocery Getter?

Welcome to 2014 everyone! With the holidays behind us now, it’s time to bring on the new year at full speed and the month of January is already shaping up to be a big one. Kicking off in a little over a week is the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and already we are getting glimpses at some of the new models and concepts that will be appearing. The first one is the Q50 Eau Rouge Concept from Infinti.

Based on the Q50 sedan, Infiniti has used its partnership with Red Bull Racing to develop this F1-inspired four-door. The car features a number of changes from the standard issue Q50 and Infiniti says the only things that haven’t changed are the roof and door panels. For example, the carbon fiber front spoiler and rear aero design have been inspired directly by Red Bull’s RB9 F1 machine. The roof panel is also made from carbon fiber, as are the side stills. Other changes include more aggressive suspension tuning, a high flow exhaust system and a set of forged 21″ alloy wheels.

I’ve always been a fan of a proper sport sedan, so I’m excited to hear the rest of the details when the car officially debuts in Detroit.

How good would this look full on Bippu?

It has the same "huge buttocks" problem as the panamera ... combined with a front end quite much "inspired" by Lexus'. Nothing special for me.

Damn, I didn't know stock Q50 roofs were carbon fiber!

maxproof The Panamera is a station wagon

5

jah1monRight? I had to read it a couple times to make sure that's what it was saying haha

6

I heard Vettel was used as the test driver for performance tuning. If Adrian Newey wasn't the designer, this car won't be very fast ;)

7

jah1monJust read it somewhere else and its only the profile that hasn't changed

8

If only they put the VR38 into this...

9

Just saw today the Q50 and it's quite perfect as it is, it doesn't need a sportier look in my opinion.

wheatgod JulianHuynh That would a pretty good alternative as well. They could possibly target the C63/M3.

Why you gotta be a hater. He was quick in jr categories, quick in the BMW, and quick now... You should buy some anal ez for your butthurt

13

Dalton BedoremaxproofNo, it's a 5-door fastback...lol

14

@jezzak I'm not a hater. It was a sarcastic joke, hence the wink face. I am completely aware of his talents. Don't be so quick to conclusions.

15

maxproof Its to reduce overall drag.........effective and elegant design, deal with it.

16

Now if we can just get some of the "vibe" of this Q50 in some new sedans.
So they really can be, four door sports cars.

17

wheatgod JulianHuynh Agreed big performance Sedans need big performance displacement.

Grocery getter? More like "baby toter"!

More like F1's mobidly obese distant relative. Slapping a sticker on to a F1 car isn't quite enough to turn this horrid creation into a sports car.
