Lexus’ Deviant Behaviour

Lexus has been showing off its new IS sports range at SEMA, but what caught our attention was a little project it’d had going on the side. Partnering up with popular art community site deviantART, it launched a competition to get people to design their own version of the car. Over 600 entries were received and those were whittled down by a panel of judges until just one winner remained. Rob Evans’ vision of the IS was then turned into reality by VIP Auto Salon and revealed to the public at the Las Vegas show. The deep front bumper and bulging arches gave the car an aggressive front end and there was also a carbon interior, special three-piece wheels and a custom satin white paint job to boot.

Fair play to Lexus for making this particular bit of art into reality!

Too  bad even my 65 year old mother thinks the car is boring enough to put the driver to sleep.

Boring? I don't know... the black corset grill is worth a grin.

Just read Top Gear's scathing review of how this car looks lol. I have to say, I agree. It's one ugly thing

.... good work VIP Auto Salon!  New IS looks great!
... oh if top gear comments on a new car it must be true! ;P

LexusDrift Didn't say it was, said I agree. A matter of opinion not fact. Have you seen it from the side? The body kit is hideous and the wheels are mustard yellow. But if that's the sort of thing you're into, fair enough

Jordan_Burgess LOL  thanks man

The art contest side of this is cool no doubt, but that grill (and really the whole of Lexus' current styling) is awful!

Dalton Bedore It's not the grill that bothers me, it's the headlights/running lights combo...
