Hot on the heels of Honda, Lexus has just announced their new race car for the 2014 Super GT Series GT500 class. Based on the new LF-CC, the vehicle will replace the current SC 430 race car for the next season. Details on the car’s actual specs are scarce at the moment but the first shakedown begins this very afternoon at Suzuka. Could we see the car competing in a DTM race too?
Wow, a Lexus coupé as inspiring as a BMW 4-Series. Instead of this, Toyota should create a proper Supra.
I'm not a big fan of Lexus SC430. I respect its achievements in Super GT and I know it's not smart to judge the race car by appearance because it means rather nothing, but anyway SC430 isn't good looking car and race car IMHO. However, the LF-CC is something else! Can't wait to see the production version.
oh boy!! would love to see this and the NSX in the DTM!!!
they both look like they have the same kinda spoliers...!
I like the look of both the NSX and the Lexus, but the best one for me is the new GT500 Nismo GT-R. Looks fantastic. So get a grip SH and post some pics!
Actually there's one major holdup in the cooperation between the two series and that is...Honda. That being the NSX insisting to be the only car left with a mid-engine setup interfering with the strict DTM ruleset. That said shared races and/or car interchanges (DTM cars in Super GT and vise versa) are planned cornerstone of this regulation revamp.
I'm loving these announcements! Do you think you guys will be able to do Features on the these new Super GT cars, or are they too restricted?
Very different from the old SC430:http://www.motorsportcars.es/2012/10/lexus-sc430-gt500.html
@moleman Who let you on here? ;) Both the NSX and Lexus were new cars - the GT-R has just been facelifted and perhaps looks a bit toned down compared to last year's? If anything with that many wings can be considered 'toned down'. :)
@whorok305 I believe all the GT500 series is going to be running turbocharged 2 litre four cylinder engines this year actually...
