Bmw Goes Mmmmmm With The M4

BMW have just announced their new Concept M4 Coupe at the beginning of the Pebble Beach/Monterey automobile weekend.

The M-badge-wearing version of the new 4-series features exclusive 20 inch wheels covering carbon ceramic brakes, the power dome bonnet first seen in the E46 M3…

… a now trademark carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof which sheds weight and lowers the centre of gravity…

… and a rear end sporting flared arches to accommodate the wider track, plus a carbon-fibre rear diffuser…

… with the customary twin tailpipes now being shod in carbon-fibre as well.

Details on the engine aren’t confirmed yet, but the bulging bonnet will likely conceal a turbocharged straight six which will replace the V8 of the E92 M3.

The M4 Coupe is expected to go on sale early next year. So what do you think? Is it a fitting successor to the E92 M3?
