Next week we’re going to be running a theme celebrating all things VW, Audi, Porsche and the other marques which fall under the VAG scene. Arguably, the platform most commonly identified with this scene is Volkswagen’s Golf. Launched in 1974, the Golf has now evolved into its seventh iteration and continues to be one of the most popular hatches on the market today. It goes without saying that there have been some great and some not so great Golfs over the years, but we’ve decided to keep it simple and limit this poll to the main chassis evolutions.

The question is simple: which is the greatest Volkswagen Golf?
