Discussion: Perez – Hero Or Villain?

Whilst Monaco is undoubtedly the most famous venue on the F1 calendar, as a racing venue, it’s far from the greatest. The Armco-lined narrow streets traditionally make for difficult racing with few overtaking opportunities and even less room for error. I guess McLaren’s Sergio Perez had his own ideas, as he repeatedly barrelled down the inside of cars towards the Nouvelle Chicane, with a pass-or-crash style of overtaking. Some of the other drivers weren’t too impressed with this, with Kimi Raikkonen going as far as saying that someone “should punch him [Perez] in the face.”

Isn’t this what F1 needs though: a guy who is willing to throw caution to the wind and race? Or do you think that Perez’s driving style is maybe too kamikaze and he should be reprimanded?

Either way, let us know your reasoning below.
