As the Toyota 86 continues its all-out assault on the automotive world, the latest name to jump into the fray is Pike’s Peak legend “Monster” Tajima. Monster Sport has been brewing up a rather wicked looking hillclimb 86 that you can see in the just-released teaser clip above. No specific info about the “Super 86″ build has been brought out yet, but more updates are promised on the Monster Sport website.

I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say I’m excited to find out what’s beneath that radical looking skin.

Might as well make an FT86 NASCAR, this has absolutely nothing to do with the car. It looks like a bad caricature from the front, and the back is just laughable.

@Everybodys_critic Well said

3

That's just his old "Suzuki" hillclimb car with new stickers on. While an impressive machine, it's NOT close to a  GT86 in any way, shape or form.

4

Is it just my phone or is that video really shit in terms of quality?

5

@ToyotaSupraMan Ha! "Suzuki". Well if it ain't broke don't fix it

6

@Ryanfels your phone

7

To all the people here complaining that it does not look like the car it's supposed to represent, nothing new here. I guess you should have a look at what a Suzuki SX4 is ...

8

Marketing at its best!
Trying to convince people that this is a Toyota 86. Using a high profile figure to advertise the product.

9

@Everybodys_critic
Maybe it's the fact that its a mid mounted engine, the back will look a lil funny.

10

Interesting, mid engine for sure. Wonder what's under there?

11

its not an 86 when its got a whole new power plant

12

Interesting...a Pikes Peak silhouette racer.
(Sounds a bit modified).
Kinda cool.

13

That looks about as bad as it could. Should have stuck with the electric car from last year.

14

@KietaPhillips if it's like his past suzuki's most likely a twin turbo v6

15

@Everybodys_critic its a fucking race car. 0/10

16

Why is he testing on dirt when pikes peak is now all sealed?

17

Looks like it could almost be a mid-engine version of these...

@ToyotaSupraMan I was about to write the same thing. Looks like the old Suzuki with new stickers

JDM Shrek is sponsored by gopro

The interesting thing is that Mr Tajima is the leader of Suzuki's motorsport division. And now he drives a ''Toyota'.

21

@gazserm Possibly not a Toyota engine, probably the Suzuki twin turbo from before.

22

@KietaPhillips Do you have solid facts about your statement?

23

@JDMized note the words "probably" and "possibly". For all we know it could be anything.

@KietaPhillips  I would venture to say it's a Toyota engine :)

The amount of fail in these comments is just mind blowing! This is a purpose built, hill-climb race car! It's not supposed to look like a Toyota or Suzuki or share any parts with their production cars! It's like saying Ferrari's F1 car is "fake" because it does not share any parts with the 458 or California! Same goes for the design! This car follows function! It's not supposed to be good looking... Every time there is a Pike's Peak article there are legions of retards who are quick to patronisingly point out something that is SO OBVIOUS and think they're so smart! I just hate that people don't appreciate what Tajima-San has achieved over the years because in their narrow minds "this car shares nothing with the real car"...
And JDMized, you're a PERSISTENT FUCK! I'm genuinly surprised you're not banned from speedhunters yet.
