There seems to be a lot more positive energy around the WRC these days – perhaps it’s down to the immediate success of the new Volkswagen Motorsport Polo WRC or with the semi-retirement of Loeb which throws open the title race for the first time in nearly a decade. In fact there have only been six different world rally champions since 1995 (McRae, Makinen (4), Gronholm (2), Burns, Solberg & Loeb (9)). We’re only two rounds into the 2013 championship and it’s already showing why it’s one of the toughest championships on earth. WRC is definitely my favorite.
One of the best parts about WRC is the amount of passion its fans have for the sport. They will risk life and limb to help any and all drivers who go of course back on to finish the stage.
It will be unfortunate when Loeb is not part of WRC, but will be interesting when he goes to touring cars...for citroen, i think it was
