Drag racing in Japan may have taken a back seat to drifting and time attack, but it’s far from dead. Shops like Endless have been catering to the drag scene for decades and continue to come up with incredible builds like this 1200 HP BNR32 featured in this video by Luke Huxham. Coolest thing about this car is the fact that, despite packing over four times the original stock power, it’s still street legal and driven to and from the drag strip. Hit play to find out more…

You gotta be kidding! All it needs are stuffed puppy dogs and perfumed pine trees to go with the music. I thought this was about cars. 1200HP? Why doesn't he prove it? How About Some Action! It was endless all right, still waiting to see some smoke.....

I liked the music selection and thought it worked very nicely with the cinematography style. Notice how the song builds up just right when he got into the car.Not every car video has to be smoke and burn-outs. My favorite car video I've ever seen is when Depth of Speed visited JDM legends and they used the song "Twice" in the background. (that single video took the Hakosuka Skyline from a car that I had seen a picture of once, and then launched it to the #1 slot on my automotive bucket list). Then again I'm an audio designer, so I appreciate it when people put a little extra design work into these types of videos to help create a different feeling or atmosphere.

Although I don't fully understand your comment I will attempt to answer it. This was a customers car and the customer was not present so doing driving shots was very limited. I don't know to many well known Japanese shops with huge reputations that take out their customers cars for top speed runs on the small public street during peak hour traffic with children finishing school around the area.

Brad_S japan doesn't have the same emissions laws as cali, nor is their system of road vehicle registration the same as cali, so you can't really make a fair conclusion. japan has a number of ways to register special vehicles for road use, that we in cali simply do not.

Brad_S speedhunters_dino There are no laws against horsepower in the United States. You can put 2000 horsepower in your car and as long as you are within environmental standards (which is possible) and you have plates, lights, etc the cops can't touch you.

@Drk14 @Brad_S @speedhunters_dino Yep. And in Florida there isn't even any emissions testing anymore. The rate of violators is really so low it doesn't justify the expense of testing. There is a law that vehicles operating on the road may not have excessive smoke, flames, oil etc. from the tailpipe. I've yet to see someone get a citation for that. If you go to an old school car show in Daytona or Fort Lauderdale don't be surprised to see a street driven Olds Cutlass or 5 blown to high heaven. In any case, that monster probably doesn't run the race ECU map on the street. You can bet that if it were in California there'd be a setting that would pass any emissions test there

MannyManiac well in Cali, you have to run the factory ECU and any modifications (chip, cams, headers ect) have to be certified by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). getting a part certified costs upwards of $40,000, so many small time manufactures can not pursue the certifications. Modifications must not cause the emissions of the car to be out of requirements. If the car is 1975 and older, then it is exempt from emissions tests.

Nice, would love to see an onboard shot of it with a camera on the speed to 200mph. Sick car, been a fan of Endless for a long time. They've really been around for a while, great cars.
