VAUGHN GITTIN JR. – 2012 IN 179 SECONDS

It seems that everyone is on a bit of a ‘year in review’ buzz at the moment, but we think that JR has nailed it with this minimalistic look at his 2012 season. No gimmicks or fancy direction, just raw footage from on-board JR’s Mustang at each round of the 2012 Formula D season.

Turn your speakers UP.

Thank you all for the comments (yes even the haters, love you guys!). Glad you all enjoyed it!!! Pretty crazy to realize that running every course on the FD circuit can fit into 179 seconds!!! Looking forward to hitting Long Beach in April!

Wow! Awesome video, great sound too!

What camera his he using?

Also, it doesn't matter who your backers are, if you don't have the skill to Cary the speed, hit the clipping points, and stay close in tandem, you're not going to win. That's the thing about drifting, it's not as easily influenced by wads of cash, and sponsors with bottomless pockets, if the driver wins the championship it's because he drove the best, not because his team got him in and out of the pits the fastest or because he had three spare cars to fall back on. He impressed the judges and that's all that matters. Also, I think a Mustang would be more of a challenge to drift than an S chassis =P

And that's how a video is made, letting the driving do the talking. And that's a sick car, no matter what anybody says.

How is he selling out because he driving what he likes? Hes a American driving a American car so how is that selling out?  Kids these days. I seriously doubt the Japanese is talking sh*t about TOYOTA going to NASCAR calling them a sell out. Also last time i checked you dont have to have a import to drift. Not in the rule book homes. But if you dont have haters your not doing something right and apparently hes doing damn good because ya'll hating. When you guys go to these event do you call him a sell out to his face or do you act like a fan then talk sh*t after you get his autograph? Nice video VG and Thank You Speedhunters for the drift coverage.

@arsinek I like the guy and his mustang. Found the video entertaining, all runs looked near perfect tho but I am no expert. Would have been cool to see his following runs

Not sure why its JR.....  To be backed by Ford Racing and to be sponosored by Monster ($$$) and not WIN is a joke!!!

RodChong 291 pts moderator

@Scottie_Styles not win?

Mr. Vaughn Gitten JR used to drive an S-Chassis and has sold out and now drives a mustang ohhh god these goons killed drifting....

Goons???  Drifting is dead??? Seems alive and well to me my man!

He sure makes drifting look boring, no style.

 coment1 He's only doing what he's been asked to do by the judges...

 coment1 So your judging style from one view on the top of a car??? Cool!

Simple works so well here, not too sure on the shifting camera at the end though. The Mustang really does sound great. Until this video, i never realsed how long they are throttel during runs. His drifting looked great though (but im no expert).

Am I the only one who finds all that Drift Championship a bit pointless and boring? I can't help myself...
