Filmed & produced by our friends at Juicebox, this short film chronicles a night in a private industrial area in Ireland, with only a 20-valve 4A-GE providing the soundtrack. We are obliged to tell you that Speedhunters does not approve or condone any sort of reckless driving in public places. Always obey your local traffic laws and always wear a seatbelt.

If "Speedhunters does not approve or condone any sort of reckless driving in public places. Always obey your local traffic laws and always wear a seatbelt" then why does Speedhunters even bother posting the video? The video is not just about the hachi, is about street drifting which is illegal on public roads, especially here in the States. It's an indirect glorification of street drifting/racing. My friend's wife was killed because some kids were street racing and he was left to raise his 5 year old son by himself. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of car racing, drifting, etc but to show illegal street activities is irresponsible.

Ta se go hiontach! Bhi raidairc on eitealain a bhi gan saru!!

I don't approve or encourage street racing/drifting, but in some places, it's all we have. I'm fortunate enough to live in NJ and be relatively close to Englishtown Raceway Park, where they hold drift events every now and then, but some people aren't that lucky. I always felt like this problem is really similar to the skateboarding problem - they have no where to skate; we have no where to race. I'm sure its not as easy as it sounds, but counties states towns or whatever should really try to open more local tracks that hold events regularly, or reserve parking lots similar to the one in Atlanta GA that held drift events that was shut down over the summer. It would really help, not diminish, the amount of people racing on the streets, and help a lot of lives.
Just my opinion.

16

@JCostas It seems you failed to read/comprehend it was filmed in a Private industrial area.

17

Sexed up joyriding video which in parts IS filmed on public roads

18

@hiphop82 Oh really, I was unaware that the car is stolen. *strong sarcasm*

19

Finally something different then dubstep, and even better when it's "Cliff Martinez - Don't blow it" .

20

@varilight joyriding IN BRIEF: One who travels in a (possibly stolen) car for pleasure. I never acused anybody of steeling

@varilight  @JCostas

Bullshit that was an industrial area. You can't be that thick to actually believe it.

Street racing is dumb. Street drifting on the other hand, far, far less damage is likely to happen. You know the instant you're about to lose the drift and you either straighten out, or slowly spin out. Max speeds don't really reach more than 80k an hour.

Anyway 10/10 loved it.

22

And there's a time and place for it, 2am mid-week in a super low traffic area, and you'll be lucky to see a single soul. But if you do it during daytime through the 'burbs, that's plain dumb. Unfortunately it's the idiots who do the damage, and paint us all with the moron brush.

23

@thriller @JCostas I gave them the benefit of the doubt that's all. I actually don't care if its street or industrial I just don't like it when people harp on about the same old crap again without even reading it fully

I also do not approve or condone any sort of "reckless" driving in public places. But then again I may or may not be telling the truth. Hmm...

Hahaha!!!

Author26

@varilight  @thriller  @JCostas I know nobody believes me, but it really was filmed on a private industrial area.

27

I may be terribly ill-informed, but why the sparks from the tyres at 3:04? It's wet, he's not bottoming out anywhere and they're definitely coming from the tyres. Appologies but these sorts of things intrigue me... =P

28

Also, awesome video. A great example of someone enjoying their car, not inconveniencing anybody, just bouncing a beautiful engine off the limiter for their own enjoyment, music indeed.

Author29

@InnerToxicity He's run out of rubber and is down to the wire.

@PaddyMcGrathSH  @varilight

even the bit at 3:50???

If it was all completely private property and filmed with the approval of the owner... well... I'm impressed/jelly that anyone can own that much delicious road.

31

Dekro i completly agree. Car guys are big kids and we need a playground. You dont want your kids playing in the street but rather a jungle gym at the local park. Same principle. i dont agree with reckless driving but he wasnt reckless. He was in a safe deserted area with what looks like spotters. Reckless driving is drifting a 405 freeway entrance/exit ramp on a Monday at 3 p.m.. Los Angeles natives knows what im talking bout.LOL

32

Can somebody explain why my comments were removed ?

33

@varilight  the area maybe private but the road isn't. Here in the states, a private area doesn't mean that the road is private unless it's a parking lot or a closed course. When there are street lights and markings, it's a public road. The point is that it's done on public road, it doesn't matter if it's 2 a.m in the morning. My friend's wife was killed early in the morning around 4-5 a.m. because she had an early shift. How do you tell your 5 year old that mom is gone and not coming back? I'm sure those street racers who killed my friend's wife weren't expecting anybody to be around at that time. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of drifting and Option Video but I'm no fan when video like above or when Option Video starts showing illegal street activities. Too many innocent lives have lost. Take the filming to the track or ask local law enforcers to close the road for the safety of everyone else.

34

@PaddyMcGrathSH *facepalm* of course, thanks =P *dies of embarrassment*

35

beautiful drift. sutil, simple, elegant, genuine! :D not a vulgar smoking apelative drift... hahaha :D

36

@InnerToxicity  @PaddyMcGrathSH I think the more likely response would be that he's run over something metallic and got it stuck in the tire, which is why it doesn't continue later on in the video as it's been spat out.

37

@PaddyMcGrathSH  @varilight  @thriller
Everyone forgets the beginning of the video when they have to get past a gate with a keypad or I suppose they refuse to believe

Daaaaaaamn this is good! hahahahhaa

39

No, it was just editied and the scenes were not actually in order but its def. the metal wires in the tires. Very common when you where a tire down that far.
