PORSCHE 962C LOOSE ON THE STREETS
Japan is a country full of surprises. If you are like me and are always on a car spotting session no matter where you go, your eyes are sure to be kept busy and a sore neck is almost guaranteed. But while Japanese enthusiasts love to use their pride and joys, no matter how exotic, how rare or how tuned they may be, the car in this video is simply on another level. This video is the web version with English subtitles of the DVD that is included in Motor Head Vol. 5, the Japanese car culture magazine I reviewed last week. Hit play and I bet you won’t believe your eyes. As the saying goes, only in Japan…

And this is why I love Japan so much! Such a rich car culture, so much colors to it, you can't possibly not see a certain car there, absolutely mind blowing!
There's been 10 features since this post and I'm still coming back to watch this. So many times, I lost count.
would have been nice to see him give it a bit,so we could hear the thing wind up
Thanks for posting this Dino, reminded me to order a copy of Motor Head!
Love that idle and the way it slinks over bumps in the road. This is a true supercar.
amazing. I want to drive up to Lawson to get my tuna onigiri driving in this thing. Bellissimo Dino!
Motor Head needs to do some English based publications/blogging. I love everything I have seen from them so far, operative word being seen. Wish I could read the backstories/articles and subscribe to it in English.I hope Motor Head sees the potential in branching to an English market.
Great! Thanks for the update, I look forward to seeing what is produced
when the road is as smooth as glass like over there, yea for sure. in the pot hole ridden road of north america... maybe not.
seems like a completely reasonable daily driver =))))
Amazing. An even crazier that it's in Japan which may be the most difficult place in the world to drive such a wide machine on the street.
Man, to pull up to a 7-11 with this....
Awesome! I may have seen this car in Shibuya about 10 years ago. Was it originally plain white with Schuppan Porsche banners on it?
I've got a couple of low-res pictures of it that I took on the day. It was making an amazing noise, and it certainly stands out in the Route 246 traffic! Wanna see them?
Neil Mac Could have been, but then again this is Japan so there are probably more than one Schuppans here LOL
@speedhunters_dino @Neil Mac I heard from another source that Vern Schuppan only made one 962 roadcar with the race car body. However, from watching the video, I guess there could be 2 (one prototype & one customer car)? If that's right, I guess they could both be in Japan!
One of S/H greatest feature.
What a beautiful video. The rumble of the 962C exhaust gave me chills.
speachless...
Best one yet!
Cool car, but the owner could've acted a little more excited about it. Damn, if I owned a street-legal racing Porsche like that there'd be tears of joy in my eyes!
It's one of many many cars in his vast collection...I'm sure he is excited about it in his own way!
Maintenance for that must cost an arm and a leg and a handful of other body parts too. That's one lucky owner.
Truely a car to be passionate about! Only a small percentage of drivers could use this weapon to its potential.
I love it that its used on the street and not in storage.
One word: Epic!
Why do you get a special thanks in the credits dino?
Cotnyjoe I was there to shoot the car...feature coming up soon:)
speedhunters_dino Cotnyjoe I thought Because Racecar. I was wrong.
Hondafan Cotnyjoe LOL
