Falken have come on leaps and bounds in the American Le Mans Series with their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, taking on the big factory teams and major tyre manufacturers at the sharp end of the GT grid. The bumpy streets of Baltimore at the beginning of September provided an X Games-style challenge for low-slung GT cars, and Falken’s #17 crew of Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler somehow avoided all the street-fighting mayhem to come through and take the win – their second in the two races held at Baltimore since 2011.

Here’s their story from the winning weekend, which shows off the incredibly tight and twisty nature of the impressive Baltimore street course and the lethal kerbs and bumps – and close attention from the chasing GTs – the Falken crew had to survive to take the victory.

American Le Mans is awesome, I went to the Mill Motorsports event a few years back. The level of access that you get with your general admission pit pass is something people pay thousands of dollars for in other series. The pit crew, drivers, people you meet could not be nicer.

Still seeing this race in my city, its something I never thought would happen. Maybe only the local news has covered it, but it has been a real struggle. We almost lost this race. I'm as grateful for the race as these guys are for podium finishes! Here's to the future. Once our 5 year contract ends, I hope it can be renewed
