Is Your Car Speedhunters Worthy?

Over the last couple months we’ve rolled out numerous changes to improve the Speedhunters experience. Whether it’s delivering more of the content you guys love, expanding our Speedhunting horizons, or improving the functionality of the site itself, we’ve been working non-stop to make Speedhunters better and better.

Since the beginning, reader rides and other reader-sourced material have been a crucial part of the Speedhunters sphere. In order to streamline this process and bring more of this content to the world, we have established a new way for you guys to submit material to the site.

While we would love to physically get out there and shoot all of these great stories from across the world , budget and time restraints make this an impossibility. That doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to be shared tough.

If you have a cool car or build story that you think is worthy of being featured on Speedhunters, drop us a line at featurethis@dev.speedhunters.com . Please make sure to include your name and location, as well as some basic details and specs, along with at least 5-10 photographs. Photos should be no less than 800 pixels wide.

Keep in mind we are looking for truly “Speedhunters-worthy” vehicles. Odd builds, wild resto projects, sleepers, race cars, crazy engine swaps, cars doing things they were never designed for, etc.

We plan on choosing the most interesting vehicles and build stories for a series of posts that will become a regular part of the site.

So, if you or someone you know has a car that needs to be seen by the world, send it in!

-Mike Garrett

@BigLips I'm talking a clean body, not devoid of creativity; take Rusty Slammington for example, or Wobbie, how about a drift spec product of Germany or an S14 swapped 2002 (M2). These are all vehicles that I would deem "Speedhunters-worthy", wouldn't you?

@BigLips I think an E30 with an engine from an M6 would be deemed Speedhunters-worthy

the guy on vwvortex from europe, who by himself built a full-on tubbed tube framed mid engined mk2 golf race car.
he needs a feature.
the build is complete with full body molds so he can make extra duplicate panels in case they get damaged.
truely the best most impressive home build i have yet to come across on the internet.
and hes only like 25 or 26 years old.

as of 2 weeks ago the car has finally been finished to the point where its drive able. its almost 100% complete after a 5 years.

the guy on vwvortex that is building a mid engine (16v turbo) tube framed mk2 golf race car. complete with home made body molds so he can make extra body panels.
a product of off and on building over a 5 year period.
truly an amazing show of craftsmanship and the best (home built by a single person) build i have come across so far.
and the guy is only 25 or 26

as of recently the car is 99% done. its fully assembled and drive able (testing and tuning).

full documented build thread can be found in the vwvortex mk2 golf specific forum
just search "Golf mk2 16vT Mid-Engine RWD Race car build" thats the thread title.

prepare to spend alot of time scrolling through the 90 pages.
its inspirational.

This looks like a suggestion I and some other people made recently.. lol

Look, no doubt that they will recieve a lot of emails containing unuseable content. Its bound to happen. People out there will send stuff in that either doesnt really have a place on the site, or maybe the pics will be bad quality, who knows. I think whats important is if you arent sure, let them decide and dont get your feelings hurt if it never shows up. But the possibilities here are great. If several of the editors can look at whats there they can tap into it every once in awhile and perhaps we can be introduced to some pretty special cars/events that we normally wouldnt see.

Good! I am looking forward for  really interesting projects. And may be someday I will write own story about my lovely jzx. And as for me Speedhunters team  really appreciated , thank you for your work and every day's new emotions!

16

Yes because if there are "Cars" windshield sun shade then my MINI can make Speed Hunters all day.

17

Yay! and on a similiar note I'd love to see more of the build side of all articles especially engine builds. I know you guys are photographers and might have to rely on shots that aren't at a professional standard but being told the engine specs and SEEING it mid assembly are two different things. You have access to some awesome custom builders, specialist manufacturers and race/works teams. Lets see the valve angle grinds, one off roller rockers all the juicy bits please please.

@BigLips You get 2 points for mentioning Rusty Slammington!!

My car will be here... after a few years... make that many years.
