These days there are few online film releases I look forward to more than Josh Clason’s Depth of Speed series.
In his latest release, Josh profiles a man who was able to acquire a his childhood dream car – a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.
As you’ll see in the film though, “owning” the car is just one small part of the experience.

What an amazing sound!! I'm from CA too! Never figured it to be a California thing, but I truly believe cars are meant to be driven, no matter the model.
moving....
an other dude you may be interested by, Magnus Walker, a freaking classic 911 lover !
I just read on depthofspeed.com that these require a 4 gallon oil change at 1K miles intervals. No wonder it took 30 years, he was saving up all that oil.
i guess im lucky 10 year old me only wanted an e30. it was 27 year old me wanted the s50.
Beautiful, beautiful car. And major props to that man for driving it like it should be driven,. Probably 95% of the gullwing owners out there will never have the balls to know how good that straight six sounds.
Just gorgeous. This video captured the essence of everything that makes being a car-lover so special. Beautiful work!
This video made me a believer too.
Cheers to Mr. Clason...if you don't enjoy it, somebody else will when you die. That's the right aditude.
Ps needs more music in the video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=IHfOPsGZssU
@Rü$╫ no music needed! the sound of that motor under throttle is all the sweet sound required.
A mixture of the two within the video would have given it more character but yes that German straight six sounds like a v8. Beautiful soundtrack all by itself yes.
BEAUTIFUL! absolutly beautiful!
the exhaust tone is amazing.
