I was down at Daikoku PA last night with a few friends of mine when I heard the unmistakable noise of a close to unsilenced Porsche flat-six. Now we all know that the Japanese aren't too fussed about driving highly tuned, stripped-out, track-prepped cars on the street but driving a fully-fledged race car on the road is plain crazy! Or is it? The owner and his buddy stopped for a quick drink, climbed back into the 996 contorting over the roll cage and were off again onto the Wangan. If you could get away with it, what race car would you drive on the street? The new R35 GT-R GT3 might make a nice C1 racer!

Nissan Deltawing FTW
Killer pic of an insane car!
Wallpaper Please!!!
Calsonic R32 GT-R
You already know, the RE-Amemiya GT300 RX-7
That is awesome. The driver is my new hero! It might not be as radical, but always fancied having a WRC car or a Group B car with anti-lag for street use.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that's not a genuine Cup. No centre-lock wheels for a start.
It would have to be either the Ueno Clinic Macca F1 or the 2003 JGTC R34 GT-R.
I don't think it's a real cup car, judging by the lack of centre lock wheels. My ultimste race car for the road would be the jgtc bp trueno.
wow... Blackbird really let himself go.
Ferrari F40 LM.
Clayton Cunningham Racing IMSA 300zx would be a fun daily driver. Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring wins sound like a pretty good track record.
997 RSR GT3
It's not got a cup bumper, and it's not running centre lock alloys, but I guess those could have been all retrofitted. Cage looks like the real deal?
something is definitely amiss on it. But still pretty nice car to spot
BTCC EP3 Civic Type-R or DTM M3
If I was able to pick a race car to drive on the streets? Mercedes CLK GTR. Or Porsche 917-10. A LMP1 would do it for me :))))
Love the graphics
Nice replica but didn't the real GT3RSR come with a center locking wheels? Either way, I'd rock it every day.
5 stud wheels, it's no Cup Car!
He's trying hard to look like it though!
BRM P261.
Group B Ford RS200. Seeeeeeyaaaa!
Not a Cup car. That car is 5 lug, cup cars are monolug.
Nissan R89C. No doubt.
Lancia Stratos or Delta rally car, or Subaru GC8 WRC car
Personally I would love to drive the GSR Studie BMW Z4 on the road !
This why I love NIPPON!
Those guys have achieved HERO STATUS!! I've always wanted to drive an F1 car on the streets, I'm not even picky on the era.
GIBSON GTR. That's what I would drive. BEAST MODE
Porsche 917.
epic. the driver are insane.w
First thing that comes to mind is the Group B spec S1...nice find on the porsche!
That 996 looks pretty good, and the photo is nice too.
I would drive the Nissan R383 on the Wangan. That would be fun.
So like everyone said, its still has 5 lug, but isn't they're road laws way stricter than the USA let alone Cali? How are these Japanese getting away with driving such a visually stunning car like this one and the bososoko cars? They just get fined and thats it?
I think a good article would be smog issues in Japan vs USA vs AU vs EU etc. Might make me feel better being in Cali as it might not be that bad compared to other countries.
F50 GT-1, Colin McRae's 99 Impreza WRC, Calsonic R32, or anything taking 10k+ rpm

Youd be disappoint bro. Cali and the US has had the worst, most restrictive laws for decades.
That's why Europe and Japan both has so many cool cars that you can't get in 'Merika. They can't pass US emission and safety BS regs.
Audi R8 GT LMS on street would be fun!
Impreza WRC'99... would be awesome (just... love it)!!
Thanks for the pic...!!
(Discussing a bit...) It's a shame that roll cages and other safety equipaments are not legal (at least in my country). I write from Portugal and if want to legalize a rool bar/cage in my car, it is very dificult... I don't understand why because it uprases (make grown... Sorry my bad English...) the safety.
Mazda Furai
probably the mugen civic that was used in the jtcc days
Porsche 917, in Gulf livery.
Darren & Pstar to be honest, from what I've seen Australia(where i live) has the most restrictive road regs. I would kill for American or Japanese regs. currently the RTA(our Road & Transport authority) is trying to pass legislation which will make it impossible for anyone bar the extremely wealthy to make even minor mods to any car. Its already damn near a joke ATM.
Castrol TOM's Supra back from the glory days of Super-GT
That or the Mistubishi Evo VI rally car or the Subaru Imprezza Rally car from the same era as well
Damn nice pic of an insane car!
nice graphic style!
1997 McLaren GTR "Long Tail"
I have lots of respect to the japan culture of drifting first ones to drift
