Toyota held a media event yesterday for the new 86 at Makuhari Messe and the festivities included a tandem drift demonstration by Nobuteru Taniguchi and Manabu Orido. Car@Nifty was there to capture the action.
Not bad for a pair of stock cars eh?

The 86 looks good in white.
The engine makes 100hp per liter and produces 90% of it's peak torque between 2k rpm and 6k rpm, and only has to rev to 7450rpm instead of Power-to-weight ratio is 13.5:1 or the same as a 1st gen Boxster, and better than an MX-5, RX-8, Mini Cooper S, or Hyundai Genesis 2.0T and AVERAGES over 30mpg. Haters gonna hate? Haters are just plain DUMB.

You are so right. To the folks whining about the car being underpowered, you are truly missing the point.
Toyota/Subaru designed these cars to be modified. When your S13, S14 or Civic was stock, it was no high horsepower car, it was the same as this. Fairly inexpensive and easy to modify.
Haters will hate. But love more and hate less and stick to all that you do best, except hating.
From this point on, ignore the hatred.

still has a lousy pain in the ass subaru engine to work on...toyota should say how they are so lame and cant design a 4cyl themselves...hype over garbage ....i wonder how strong the trans is and how expensive it will be to replace from drifting...lets hope nissan counters with something better....this car cost how much 25000....plus taxes insurance
