What better way to close out our week of S-chassis special features than with this classic Nissan commercial?

This one features Rod and Steve Millen sliding around a pair of brand new ’89 240SXs at what looks to be Road Atlanta.

Enjoy!

2

i vividly remember this commercial! Thanks for posting it up.

Back then it wasn't called drifting - it was called driving fast!

3

they sold onevia's in the US officially?

4

Never in my life has a commercial put such a smile on my face.

6

It was designed to slide )

7

14,000! wow that was alot of money for a car with a truck engine..

8

Now, which one do I choose.

9

Not sure about it being Road Atlanta, but great to see this commercial again. I could be wrong.

10

I wish more car commercials were like this one

11

12

14.000 $

Imagine this in todays times :D So much fun for a new car with this price^^

13

you have to admit.. that was a hard car to pitch in 1989. 5.0 mustangs and camero packed a punch!.

14

Interesting! So different from the launch commercial in Japan!

The S13 "Art Force" Silvia was introduced as a 'date car' to compete against the Honda Prelude, so emphasis was on the stylish design, not performance. One of the first smoother designs after Nissan's sharper, boxier era (R31, C32, Y30, Z31, etc.) The S13 Silvia won a 'Good Design Award,' BTW.

15

i8apylon- drifting is not driving fast nor is it the fastest way to drive around a asphalt track. Great commercial there should be more like it..

20

Sweet! Feels like I can just go to the dealer and buy one now.

21

I <3 all these "truck engine" comments, too many drift ricers in there lol.

22

I didn't realise the "Onevia" came from the factory - was this a US only thing?

23

$14000! Ohhh those were the days LMAO
