The 2012 Dakar Rally is now in the books, with Stephane Peterhansel holding on for the overall win in his Mini. Nani Roma and Giniel de Villiers take second and third respectively. Robby Gordon ended up in fifth overall after taking the win on the final stage.

The BMW Mini seems a hollow victory considering the stuff up that happened. Matches the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally now that Rauno Aaltonen has admitted recently that he 'accidentally' took a short cut and told his co-driver that he keep his mouth shut..
