Today marks the five year anniversary since Australian racing legend Peter Brock was killed in an accident during the 2006 Targa West rally. Brock, who was nicknamed the 'King of the Mountain' because of his dominating success at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, is a legend amongst the Australian racing community. This video dates back to 1979, when Brock won at Bathurst by a truly astounding margin. Although he had a six lap lead, Brock continued to push, breaking the lap record on his final lap. Amazing.

Thank you speedhuinters for reconising an Australian racing legend suck as Perter Brock he realy was such a top bloke and it sucks that he's not with us any more but having met him at lest him twice i fell hournred to know one of Austrailia's fines't race drivers

Thanks for posting this Charles. RIP Peter. I've driven the road where he died a few times - you can see how easy it would have been to get out of shape through there at rally pace. Not a forgiving section. There will probably be some tribute rubber left out by the memorial this weekend...
