Was just sent this random snap from keen eyed reader Matthew Andrew from Panda Design Photography of a Volvo 240 Coupe. He spotted the Swedish 2-door at Phillip Island Raceway in Victoria, Australia, and having never seen one in person grabbed a shot. It's always nice to see rare cars like this kept so well, but most importantly of all used.

You wouldn't really associate this car with sportiness until you drive one. It's actually pretty nimble for its size. Great steering feel and predictable handling. You just need to upgrade to firmer suspension.

ah yes the 242GT, only 100 or so actually made it to australia so they are rather rare, especially in that condition.
also a nice little side note, they take to turbocharging very well as can be seen by a volvo tuning website: turbobricks. if volvo's or turbocharged bricks take your fancy i really suggest you check the site out for more.
I have a 242GT. Some people love it, some don't. This one looks great and I'm glad to see people out there keeping them restored. Although it looks like the front seats have been changed. You can still see the GT interior on the back seats.
242 GT, my Dad has one in mint condition, looks exactly like this but with gold Simmons!

That is David Caligari's 282 Volvo GT, fitted with a Toyota 1UZ V8. The car is extremely well engineered and has a great overall look and balance.

It has a decent size M-trim T04 turbo sucking through twin SU carbs @ 25+ psi, helped along with a lot of water/meth. awesome car.
242's are for ballers.
