With the race chassis effectively written off at last weekend's Nurburgrung 24 Hours it's been a race against time for Schubert Motorsport and Team Need For Speed to get a new car literally out of the factory and on to the track. We're now down in Navarra, Spain, for the third round of the 2011 European FIA GT3 Championship: Edward Sandstrom and Abdulaziz Al Faisal in #6 are running second in the championship behind the similar Faster Racing BMW Z4 of Jeroen Den Boer and Hoevert Vos. With no time to apply the full Team NFS wireframe livery the #6 car is running in a Stormtrooper-style white livery this weekend – which has a nice purity about it. The #7 car has also been repaired after its own 'Ring travails. Qualifying took place this morning: Edward and ATF line up third on the grid for the first race, and will start 20th tomorrow. How will 24 GT3 cars negotiate their way through the flat-out right kink that is turn one at Navarra? We'll find out in a couple of hours…
