It's been another strong weekend for Team Need For Speed in the FIA GT3 Championship. In the first race Edward Sandstrom and Abdulaziz Al Faisal scored a strong second place – things were always going to be more difficult in Sunday's second race, as both Team NFS cars were starting near the back after some problems in qualifying. But, despite that, Edward and ATF have retained second position in the championship and in fact closed right up to the leaders – they have 63 points compared to the Faster Racing BMW pair's 65.
Abdulaziz had a fighting opening stint in Race 2: the race started under the safety car due to the track still being damp from overnight rain, but the surface soon dried and ATF was locked in a battle with one of the Audi R8s for most of his stint. Edward put in another storming drive to drag the BMW up into the top 10 – only to be hit with a 30 second penalty after the race for a collision… That knocked them back to 13th and out of the points.
The #7 car endured a more difficult weekend, finishing in the lower reaches in both races.
It's going to be a busy month for Team NFS: the next round of GT3 is in just two weeks, down at Paul Ricard, and then it's the epic Spa 24 Hours at the end of the month. More podiums on the way? We hope so! #6 should be back in its wireframe livery by then, but I've enjoyed seeing the car in its pure white form.
I've uploaded a pack of Team NFS wallpapers to the Desktops section – more coverage from Navarra to follow!

Why do you have a Falken sticker on the car, when the tires say Dunlop?
