I hope you've been enjoying our look back at the different decades of F1 at Monaco. Next up is this video of Jean Alesi's Monte Carlo debut in 1990. Although not the most successful of modern day F1 drivers, Alesi won fans all over the world because of his fiery passion. He drove with his heart. This video is a great example of exactly that.

'90 Formula 1 cars look the best, everything after that is simply ridiculous ugly.

Messy. There's a reason why he isn't the most successful of F1 drivers.

how the cars have changed.. the man drove with passion!

Can we just have F1 from the 90 back ? PLEASE !! back then it was about passion and who had the biggest balls. Not about when do i switch my KERS on and blablabla ... F1 has made only steps backward since the 90's .. it's so sad how these rules keep changing. where is the sport ? Burried under RulesRulesRules, where is the passion? Where are the balls? where are the quad wheel slides through corners? Where are the sparks from the fron Wings and the body? all long gone ..... so so sad

Messy? That Tyrrell was underpowered...

Jean drove it like a kart through Monte!

That shows balls and mere confidence.

He is unsuccessfull because he went to Ferrari with a Williams contract signed already!

Sicilian roots... so tempting was Ferrari.

Had he stayed at Williams he would have had 5 good years instead throwing it all away at the Scuderia.

Look at Mansell, Prost, Hill... the Williams was the class leader.

Grazie Jean, Salut Gilles #27.
