Want to experience a lap of Bathurst with a Formula 1 car? This onboard lap with McLaren driver, Jensen Button, is the closest many of us will get to experience just that.

Watch and be amazed.

You mean Jenson, right?

Jenson!, not Jensen...

lol

Jeesus H. Christ !!!!

He missed The Grate by miles!

But that is just plain awesome. The Aussie F1GP needs a change of venue. Hat's off to Jenson Button and Craig Lowndes. I'd love to see what times an F1 could do during qualifying.

...and I jizzed in my pants...

wish we had a better audio recording, especially climbing the mountain, the sound of the f1 bouncing off those concrete barriers would be amazing... an orgy of accoustic awesomeness...

That's nuts!!! Track record there is a 2:06, freaking awesome!

9

I wonder how fast he was going on that back straight? I guess it all depends on the gearing they have for the car.

Get to da choppa!

That was just amazing and surely he wasn't even pushing ;') Already about 30 seconds quicker than the tin top "Supercars" around The Mountain. Would've been cool to see telemetry: speed, rpm, gear, braking etc. to appreciate it further.

Doubtful we'll ever see more than one F1 go around there simultaneously, let alone a full 20 car grid Grand Prix :'( you've seen the carnage caused by the touring cars around there! Unfortunately would be too high risk to drivers and the facilities there aren't quite up to FIA F1 standards.
