Random Snap>> Houston Speedhunting

The state of Texas is a quite a big state. You don't realize just how big it is until you actually set foot in the state then proceed to drive the miles, upon miles, upon miles of highways. When asking locals about somewhere to eat, they kindly suggest a place saying that it's pretty close by. That is until you hope in a car and realize that the Texas notion of close is quite different than anywhere else.

After landing in Houston, I grabbed a quick bite to eat with the photographers and bloggers from Mayday Garage. As we proceed to restaurant that was "close to the hotel" we came across this Porsche 997 GT3 cruising along. Not long after the driver spotted a camera hanging out of the window of a slammed Lexus GS, he disappeared in a very Porsche fashion. That officially signaled the start a little more than two weeks of speedhunting in Texas.

More to come from the quite large city of Houston, Texas.

Growing up in Texas, I can agree that a 2 hour drive (140+ miles) to go somewhere in nothing unreasonable. You will also find that in Houston the speed limit means nothing on the freeways.

Gonna go with JT here... Me being an Austin native, driving down to Houston and seeing people blow by me is not unusual. Haha. They really don't believe in speed limits on the freeways,
