News>>motorsport For Japan Relief

As we try to come to grips with the devastation that's happened in Japan over the last week, a lot of people are asking what they can do to help. Super GT driver Juicichi Wakisaka has established "Motosport Save Japan", a disaster relief fund in the name of the Japanese motorsport community. Dozens of racing drivers, motorcycle riders, companies, and other motorsport personalities have been contributing to the fund and spreading the word to racing fans all over the world.

For more information on the project and how to contribute, please visit the Save Japan website.

this is exactly what i was looking for, ive already donated to the japanese red cross, but i was hoping their ever-prominent racing culture would step up and do something in the name of all the people who love japan, especially japanese motorsport.

thanks for the link guys.

This might sound insensitive, but you SHOULDN'T DONATE A SIGNLE PENNY!

Japan isn't 3rd world country, they are rich and already helping it's citizens. Japan isn't U.S, that would rather bailout rich bankers instead of help Katrina victims. Also if you donate, do not make it out to Red Cross! I just want you to know that only about 40% of your donation will be helping, and the other 60% of it is going straight to special Red Cross account to collect interest to make this so called non profit company richer. Only 10% of what has been raised for Haiti has actually been spent. Haiti isn't any better off than it was the 1st week after their earthquake.

Sure do not believe me, http://google.com it yourself

In the UK, Banzai magazine has set up a fundraising page for the British Red Cross Japanese Tsunami Appeal - any help and support would be greatly appreciated: http://www.justgiving.com/banzai

We're also arranging a charity meet to raise money at the beginning of May - all details at http://www.banzaimagazine.com

Cheers in advance for any help you can give!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way about charities. People please use caution and judgment about who and where you donate to. If you dislike the truth about how nonprofit characters work then continue to live in a sugar coated matrix world. The harsh reality is a lot of the money people donate never see its way to the people that do need it.

Contrary to what we think of Japan its economy has been stagnant. It hasn't seen any gains or losses over the past 13 years. Yes its no third world country but I think the cleanup effort is more important than donations but that's another subject. Its always been constant. We can only infer now that their economy will take a massive loss due to the catastrophic events that has happened. Only time will tell what will happen.
