News>>the Ft-86 Ii Is Coming

Here we have another reason to get excited about the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Toyota has announced it will be showing a new version of the FT-86 concept known as the FT-86 II (pretty innovative name!). The car is said to be much more in line with the production version than the concept that appeared at the 2009 Tokyo show. To hold us over until Geneva, Toyota released this teaser image of the car showing the new front end.

Can’t wait to see what the full car looks like!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2

Coming to a showroom near you, circa 2020...

Let us know when it has a sales sticker on the side window, otherwise, stop wasting bandwidth covering this car that is never going to actually go into production.

3

Looks like they've added some Subie influence to the front end. I like.

4

FIRST! DO WANT!

5

...And then we'll have the FT-86 III and it will go on until, maybe the FT-86 LXIX, and then we will forget about it.

Well, hope not. Is this the real thing, Toyota? You know you need, after those recalls and the turning back to the enthusiasts with the camrys and prius...

6

I HOPE THAT SUBARU ENGINE IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7

Hopefully it will be lighter and aimed at a more general public. And please, put a Yamaha tuned L4 in it.

8

I'm calling a fwd sedan.

10

well i guess its time to pull out the old for sale for my tc o.O I WANT THAT FT-86 BADLY Yota needs to hurry up and bring it out because if the sooby version comes out first im getting that instead

11

I want it naow!!! been waiting years for this badboy...

12

Oh COol a Subaru

13

Damn ,Damn Toyota..why do you keep teasing us..bring out the FT-86 already!! :P

14

stoked to see this in production, still :P

15

Still excited to see the finished product! I haven't liked any Toyota's since the 90's.

16

It looks absolutely stunning!!!! I can tell you that..

17

Lets hope this thing goes into production soon, Toyota desperately needs a "sports" car.

18

hopefully it gets the subie motor or a yamaha motor. please dont put a toyota motor in it

19

seeing this picture makes me wonder WHAT THE HELL happened to real cars, i am truly sorry but this car is a joke for me.

20

I definitely can't wait to see shots of it ! Just that teaser image, looks bad ass !

21

fascia look sweet, roll that badboy out!

22

Love those headlamps!

23

Bring it on !

24

It's gonna be pig heavy, underpowered, have a cheap plastic interior, and numerous recalls will be made...the biggest one being a stuck accelerator pedal.

LOL TOYOTA!!!!!!!!111111111

25

What does Toyota call this advertising campaign? The Snipe Hunt!

26

Guess I won't need that RWD conversion for my STi. The boxer-four is going to be killer in a twitchy little coupe.

27

Two important questions...Can it stop? Does it leak fuel?

28

Man I gotta get paid somehow so I can afford this thing.

29

why cany toyota design a high revving 4 cyl for this car instead of using a subaru engine?..they can design a formula 1 engine a nascar engine but they cant make there own for such a car that is to mimic the great ae86....?

30

ok im crazy, but pleace, desktop

31

ok im crazy, but pleace, desktop

32

Too bad it will never be put into production.

33

its gonna end up being toyota's answer to the 370z, but gayer

heavy, and not particularly cheap.

thats my guess

Wait... doesn't a FT-86 sequel require a first FT-86 in production before it gets to be label'd with the "II"? Or is the Japanese auto industry taking a page out of the Japanese gaming industries book listed under "sequelling" (uhum.. like Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, MegaMan..)? We'll get the FT-86 "II" and a year later we'll get the FT-86 "I" but instead it'll be called the FT-86 III then afterwords a FT-86 V will randomly pop up (being a completely different car that looks to have no relation to the original FT-86) and leave everybody in massive confusion until the FT-86 VII comes out and we'll finally understand the vehicle but still ask "wheres the FT-86 "I"?".

35

I hope Nissan comes out with a new "s" chassis to compete with this OR a remake of a 280z turbo

Robby's right, roman numerals for concept cars? Build it or stop messing with everyone already. The phrase is "Shit or get off the pot".
