this game isn't for me either. Its already back in the box, ready to sell on. Its just Burn Out with licenced cars. I was bored after an hour.
Cars look great though, better that GT5....the game I've been playing ever since.
The visual efects in the game are perfect , but the handling is miserable.

I don't really think the two games are comparable. I've been playing HP on PC last night and i really enjoyed it!
Of course every car enthusiast must have GT5 because you won't get that level of realism in any other racing game. NFS HP won't take you hundreds of hours like GT5 will, but it's still a great game with perfectly modelized supercars and exellent graphics.

wow guys enjoy the game for what it is. people are so critical these days and forget that many games for the unrealistic/what-if fun that you cant get in real life! not saying nfs:hp is my cup of tea either, but in their defense, those visuals are more than enough for one to marvel and appreciate! play gt5 and youll notice its such an incomplete and poorly shaded game -_-

I guess no one here remembers how good NFS was back in the Hot Pursuit, High Stakes, Hot Pursuit II days... This game brings back the thunder! (in spades). Yes, it plays much like Burnout (duh, Criterion made the game), but it FEELS like Hot Pursuit.
But, in all honesty i'm more excited about Shift 2 (please show us how we can modify our cars ASAP, that's a definite major selling point!)

Just like some are keen to - HP is an arcade game, with pick-up-and-play physics meant to deliver a pure entertaining experience for all ages. GT is a driving simulator; scientific interpretation of real world physics model. These are each extreme ends of racing game spectrum...
God damn it! I've just bought NFS yesterday and by the night some fu**ers stole my Xbox with all games!!
I remember how good the first games were, but everything after Underground sucked. Even this one... and the only resemblance are to the old NFS are the cars. Shit, not even the tracks; they are just damn straight roads!

GT5 is not that great when we compare it to Forza (And I have both games under my shelf...)
But NFS HP is fun and great looking. period. Need a Most Wanted 2 though...
