Social>> Ask Us Your Photography Questions

One of the key goals of July's photography month is the sharing of knowledge. Many of us Speedhunters have been doing photography for a few years now –decades in John Brooks' case. So with that wealth of talent and experience that we have on this site, we would love to share it as much as we can throughout the month .

Do you have any burning photography related questions? Questions about techniques? Interested in what gear John Brooks shoots with? What it takes to become a working professional? What influences, inspires and motivates some of us? Do the red pants really bend light to Rod Chong's will?

Ask us your questions! And within the next week, we'll post some of the selected questions with answers from a few of us Speedhunters!

How does one hold a large 400mm 2.8 lens without looking like an idiot?

2

I can already tell this is gonna be a great month.

3

What budget (>$1000) camera and gear would you recommend for someone entering into professional digital photography? Is different gear required for shooting races than shooting static?

4

Questions about techniques? Interested in what gear John Brooks shoots with? What it takes to become a working professional? What influences, inspires and motivates some of us? Do the red pants really bend light to Rod Chong's will?

All of these for sure. And things like, whats a good starter camera? How do you find jobs in the photography field? How did all of you guys get set up with such a sweet sweet gig?

5

I have a simple Kodak 10mp Point and Shoot. Are there any specific setting or techniques to get high quality pictures?

6

Sort of a general question, I've been doing photography for a few months seriously and my whole life just to capture pictures, but i still have no idea how metering works. What is the difference between spot and zone metering? And in what exposure types do I use it? (ie Apeture priority or manual) Where do i set it and how?

Thanks.

Two quick questions:

- What people do you usually follow to fuel your creativity?

- I have the feeling that speedhunters is some kind of automotive trending website, with a lot of exotic imagery. In case I were right, could you please tell us more about this fact? Trend hunting really?

8

Ive just recently bought a camera, Nikon D40. Is that an alright start? I didnt have much of a budget to start off with obviously. I have been looking in to the Canon SLR's though, particularly the ones that take video as well such as the 7D. Also, another quesiton about accesories: What would be good to help out with lighting when there is little or none at all?

9

I frequently take pictures of cars at night. I am wondering if you mostly crank up the ISO or do a long shutter shot. I mostly do long shutter because I love the glares.

My main attractions are the red tail lights of the car. I don't know if I am the only one who thinks red tail lights are sexy. =]

10

whats the best camara to start shooting with??? (not professially just as a hobby)

11

What's the credentialing process like for various racing/drift series? Formula D? ALMS? I've pretty quickly gotten to the point where improved hardware would be nice, but shooting from prime locations will help me more.

Also, what's the fascination with slow shutter speed blurry pictures? I find most of them absolutely disgusting.

12

What is a decent cheap camera i can get to start photography with? Thanks in advance.

13

I have a Sony H20, and i want put a new len, but she dont have how to put direct in the machine, and i go buy a adapter to can use the lens, tell me, worth it?

14

this is to Linhbergh.

wat settings do you mostly shoot with??

like iso, white balance, aperature, etc...

15

How did you go about getting on speedhunters payroll (or any other auto blog for that matter)?

16

What sort of post processing do you do Linbergh? They seem to be heavily vignetted in alot of photo's by the looks of it and that seems to be a tell tale sign its a Linbergh photograph. How different are your published images from your original images? How much of what we see is a result of post editing and tweaking?

17

To me, Linhbergh is the most creative photographer out of all the speedhunter members. What is your inspiration for your photos Linhbergh? I seen your other non car photos, they blow me away as well.

18

Can we have a panning tutorial? Or maybe some tips & tricks for it?

19

I don't typically have the option of carrying much equipment when I am out at car meets or events so I am wondering what gear would you never leave without/ recommend? I usually just have a small bag with my camera, a 50mm and a telephoto lens and some cleaning gear.

20

do you do anything to draw attention to yourselves taking certain pictures to get a desired reaction captured on film?

21

I am going to be attending the Petit LeMans later this year, and I was wondering if you could point out some favorite spots to shoot pics (as a spectator) at Road Atlanta. Also it would be great to get some tips on low light/dark shots of cars at speed.

22

I really like that picture. lol

23

What kind of aperture and shutter speed should I use in a parking garage at night for motion shots? I always seem to get saturated pictures.... Mundane question I know but your the man to ask!

24

"Do you have any burning photography related questions? Questions about techniques? Interested in what gear John Brooks shoots with? What it takes to become a working professional? What influences, inspires and motivates some of us? Do the red pants really bend light to Rod Chong's will?"

-how are selected the event where speedhunters will be present ?

-How many photograph work for SH?

-CV of SH photographer ?

-Which technical facilty do you use for your shoot ?

25

( Thanks for all of your work ! )

26

One of the things i really struggle with in motor sport - is framing the subject. So often you arrive at a track, and there's clutter all the through the background, unfriendly officials waving you away and 50 other shooters jostling for position. Bearing in mind that half of us won't have f2.8 glass to blow out backgrounds... What tips do you have for framing shots in ugly/cluttered/busy/challenging environments.

I've dropped a few of my latest attempts over here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/35881467@N00/sets/72157624068261693/

Warmest regards -

Simon

27

How do you take a good picture of over five thousand dollars worth of camera equipment on a rock? Oh nevermind.

28

My question is camera mounts and camera rigs on cars! I don't have the slightest clue where to even start looking for the really big long ones, or building "trustworthy" ones to hold camera gear.. Then there is actually taking them, setting timers, settings, how fast to drive, etc etc!

Especially to get shots like the R35 GTR in the Guest Blog and July Editorial:

http://assets.dev.speedhunters.com/Images/Rod%202010/misc3/1.jpg

29

I'll be honest, I'm not the most professional car photographer there is, however I want to get the best out of my pics, whether it be 911s or 240s. What settings would you reccomend for cars using an HP Photosmart (At least it is only a semi piece of crap. A full piece of crap would be the camera I had in the 90s. At least this one is digital) But please tell me the settings you would reccomend.

30

Some basic techniques or ideas for those of us with -$200 cheap digital cameras that we simply take for ourselves and family? Not all of us can spend a lot of cash on our equipment, but almost everyone has some kind of camera at any event, and most are these. The quality is a million times better than a polaroid or a cheap $10 shoot-and-develop tourist cameras, and I'm not into the photo game enough to be able to tell if the original photo was 2mp or 15mp.

In short, Idiots Quick Reference Tips for Better Snaps?

LOVING this month so far...1 day in.

31

It would be really awesome if the SH crew can do a write up on the basics and fundamentals of car photoshooting as well as answering questions from the public. :D

32

Hi guys, I'm an aspiring professional photographer trying to make my way doing any photography I can. I'd like to think I've got a sufficient knowledge when it comes to technique and hardware. What I'd really like help on though is how to crack into getting to do motorsport events. So far I've found it pretty difficult from not having insurance to cover me during these events and generally getting my foot in the door. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, it's what I want to do!

33

I have a Canon 7D and was wondering what you guys would recommend as a good lens for static shots of cars. And how the hell do you get a good shot of a black car?

34

What are some of the post production/photoshop techniques used?

Thanks

- Jay

35

Excellent photos throughout the website guys ! Well done !

Couple of questions on this thread

1. How do you shoot photos at night (dimly lit situations, carparks etc). What ISO, what aperture, flash on/off ?

2. What lens focal range is best suited for still car photography especially in fairly open spaces ? Is that range on a cropped frame or full 35mm frame ?

3. How do you process your photos ? what is your workflow ?

Keep up the good work guys

Rod

36

For shooting behind the fence, would you recommend using a full frame (i.e. Nikon D700) or a crop frame (i.e. D300s) camera (with the same lenses) during day and evening hours?

37

I am a amateur photographer and dont like to spend lots of money, whats a good way to get great lighting in the field without huge battery packs and high dollar lights?

38

Linbergh, your shots often have almost unreal colouring and lighting. How do you get this highly saturated/contrasted/whatever look? Do you use filters or is it done in PS or similar? Cheers.

39

I'm using a xti right now with a kit lens and want to do more automotive photography. What are good lenses to shoot with?

40

A lot of these questions above can be answered with Google.

Seriously though, what gear are you guys shooting with? I see a lot of L lenses so it wouldn't have been cheap. I'm thinking of splashing out for an L lense, and have done some pretty fast action photography for sports events - what lense would you guys say you use the most (apart from the 400mm) for shooting action?

41

1. Linhbergh- How do you create your "under exposed" images while still retaining all the detail? For an example, the image you took at the FIA GT Silverstone Event (#3 in the desktops w/the Aston Martin), I've always been fascinated with how you blend the dark gradients to give that "vignetting" effect but without actually resorting to solid black borders.

2. How easy/difficult is it to get press passes for racing events, in particular ALMS at Laguna Seca? How much would it cost for an independent (some relatively newbie like me) to get a pass?

3. Out of curiosity, do any of you guys prefer Nikon? Even better, does anyone use any DSLRs outside of the Canon/Nikon realm?

42

Best camera to start off with? Nikon D5000 or Cannon EOS rebel... (which ever are in the same price range)

Thanks!

43

What is Linhbergh's secret to get that awesome flair and vivid color? Stacked filters?

44

As I enter my senior year of high school, I am looking into schools to further my education in photography. When teachers and peers ask me what I want to do, my first example is Linhbergh. Your shots have, quite literally, made me drool, and every time I go out to shoot I attempt to recreate your work.

What I would like to know is how you became the photographer you are now. What inspires you to try new things? And, the question that has been killing me for months now...How do you make a living doing what you do?

45

what is the camera in the pic and the lenses???

46

hi, could u recommend the best set up for rigshot? i m in the dark as to how getting the right rig built up

47

My question would be how much does it cost to have a fairly normal photo gear?

48

Would you rather get the look you want when you capture the image, or make it look how you want with photo-editing software?

Who shoots Nikon and who shoots Canon? =)

49

I got myself a Canon EOS 550D which came with the ISF 18-55mm lens. Is it possible for me to snap some good rolling (panning) shots? Or do I need a foot long lens? Tips please! Thank you!

50

Is there any free decent software available for editing photos to download that you guys know of?

51

How does linh get those crazy flare effects. Not just with flare, but the way light is in his photos?

52

Ooooh! I love this month! Sure it's gonna be a great one! Anyway, do you know of any photography/visual design schools on Earth? Asia, Austrlia, or the US?

53

I was just wondering what a good beginner DLSR would be. It wouldnt be for professional but just for a hobby

54

Whats the best camera to start with shooting professionally which doesnt cost a fortune?

55

Linhbergh: My question is in regards to your post processing techniques and the filters you use. If I say your "dark/washed out photos" I'm sure you'll know what I mean. Many of the FIA shots and car spotlight shots you've taken have a dark look to them and I'd love to know what you're doing to achieve that. If it's a lengthy response please feel free to e-mail me @ sysfailur@gmail.com .

When I go through the wallpapers section I don't even need to click on the thumbnail to know which pictures were yours because they're leaps and bounds beyond the others--no offense to the other photogs on here but I just love your style. Any tips would be appreciated. I shoot w/ a T2i, 17-40L, 50/1.4, 580EXII and probably upgrading to a 5D in a couple years depending what Canon comes up with. I know a 70-200/2.8 or a 135/2 would be extremely helpful in my arsenal for motorsports but they're not in the cards yet.

And I would absolutely LOVE to become a professional motorsports/automobile photographer so any tips there would be greatly appreciated!

56

It would be cool if you each did a retrospective on how you got started as a professional creative and how you feel you have progressed.

57

I own a 06 350z and I really wanna start shooting my car. Can I get some pointers on what camera i should buy for a hobby photographer?

I've taken photography classes and I am pretty good at photoshop, however none of my classes were hands on training so when it comes to cameras im lost.

All the advice you can give I will gladly appreciate it.

58

I'm making a documentary about my music and upcoming mixtape project "90250", and I wanted to ask what is a good no hassle digital camera for $600 or less that takes pictures and takes videos similar to the Curren$y creative control vids?

59

What are the most common filters that you use. My favorite effect is when it looks like your wearing polarized sunglasses. I'm assuming is a polarized filter but what tint?

60

Can someone please stop updating every post five times a day? I hate getting 18 new RSS entries in my inbox that I have already read.

Every day.

Seriously.

61

1. What cameras and lenses do you guys use?

2. Any lighting tips? I see photos here on Speedhunters that look like it should be impossible to expose everything properly (i.e. direct sunlight + shadows). Do you use HDR? If so, how do you do that with a moving car?

3. I think it would be a good idea to somehow include some EXIF info (like lens, aperture, shutter speed, etc) along with all the photos in future Speedhunters articles. (maybe in a mouse-over pop-up or something.)

62

I want to know how Lindbergh post processes his images.

63

To Linhbergh, your work is the one that inspires me the most, your shots are so sharp and the composition is perfect. What gear do you use? What setting do you use to get those really blurry shot with only the subject ultra sharp? How did you get where you are now?

Thanks

64

High speed shots:

How do you get a perfect crisp image of the car but the background and tires are still blurred in motion?

If a super high shutter speed is used it just looks like the car is sitting still, but too slow and you get a blurred car because it's really hard to follow them perfectly.

65

I would to know if Linbergh or the others treat their pics with photoshop or something like this. Becuase I'm a photographer and I don't do this. So with your beautiful pics I would to know if you do it,and what you do ... Thanks!

66

How to find a good place for a car shoot? How to make absolutely not exciting car look exciting? How to make pictures look crisp, nice and clear ( I hope you know what I mean :D ) e.g. like these: http://ll.dev.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/dev.speedhunters.com/Images/Linhbergh2010/July2010/test/04-1.jpg http://ll.dev.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/dev.speedhunters.com/Images/Linhbergh2010/July2010/test/02-1.jpg http://ll.dev.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/dev.speedhunters.com/Images/Linhbergh2010/July2010/photoblogs/costas/14.jpg without any filters ( I only have UV filter ) with photoshop without putting much effort.

I love photography month!!!

67

Same question as Ben asked before. I quote Ben "What sort of post processing do you do Linbergh? They seem to be heavily vignetted in alot of photo's by the looks of it and that seems to be a tell tale sign its a Linbergh photograph." I'd be very interested in some tipps for the amazing post processing done as well. It's one thing to know how to stand and get the right angle, it's another one to read EXIFs and find out about the settings and having quality equipment - but post processing is another very important part where I still lack ideas and knowledge.

BTW, great job you're all doing and I really appreciate this special!! Thanks!!

68

To Casey Ndharam. What are you doing to make some pictures look like if they are old? They look a bit yellow toned. (now I remember a blue four door R30 skyline photoshoot)

Sorry for my english. And thanks

69

I'd like to know a bit about dawn and/or dusk photography.

I read through the Pikes Peak articles, and one of the things that looked great, was the really moody shots with really warm lightning.

I'd like to know how that is achived? What shutter speeds / aperture settings are used. If there's other equipment required, like a tripod or something.

Also, for shooting at direct sunlight at dusk, what filters do you use, settings ect.

70

Panning shots... Explain how create sharp images of cars at such highspeeds?

71

When you see/know a perfect moment to capture a shot, how do you know what setting would end up looking good?

72

I know there is no definite answer but I've got a couple.

How do you frame a car for that perfect, moody, static shot?

How would you create the perfect panning shot?

73

I would like to ask, which programm do you use to edit your pictures and how much do you edit them.

74

What program(s) do you guys use to process your images? And how does one get so lucky to get into this industry. I have a Nikon D3000 that I have decided to start with. That thing is so dank.

75

Is the 5D Mark II worth it? I mean, I know what it's capable and I know you gotta pay to play...but is it worth it or is Canon (since it's my drug of choice) gonna make something better that'll blow the socks off of the 5D Mark II?

I still use the XSi, but what's the next jump I should make with Canon DSLR that's not as pricey as the XSi? Sure I'd upgrade to the 5D Mark II, if I had the money, in time I will, but what D of the Canon DSLR series should I upgrade to?

76

Good cheap cameras , Niknon D40,D90. Canon Tsi, Xti. all good cameras from the box. but the camera only captures an image. you as a photographer need to do some self studding and read up on camera/ imagery forums to learn out to take a photo. Also if you can a book, Scott Kelby is a great writer and photographer, his books are very informative and hilarious!!! And for small off camera flash i would say pick up Joe mcNally's series of amazing informational nikon small flash books. He is an amazing and creative photographer.

Then after you have practiced and become familiar with your camera, just shoot every waking hour of your life till you get sick of it!! and if you dont get sick of it, then that is when you know you have a passion for photography! good luck and note these are just my way of going about learning photography. experiment......

Good Luck,

SantiR

77

Linhbergh, What TS lens you use with your 5D ?

78

Well, first off I would like to say that I enjoy Speedhunters. I love that pretty much every day there is something new on the website and photography is just amazing. That being said I would like to get into photography, just as a hobbie for now. Like almost everyone else I just want to know where to start off at and what type of equipment I would need. I would love to do what you guys do.

79

What does it take to become a working professional in the photography business? How did you guys land such a sweet job working for speedhunters?

80

How do you light a car for a photo shoot? what type of lights do you like to uses and why?

81

how would I be able to get a job with speedhunters?

82

Hey Speedhunters!

Truly appreciate what you are doing guys! Keep it up! Lovin' all those shots but Linhbergh is my favorite.. Forgive me for being bias!

Now, on with the question. I'd like to know more about how you guys setup shots, especially those panning since race cars then to go fast but still you guys get crisp images. May I know the settings you use and at the same time, what lenses? Strobe or no strobe?

83

what would you guys recommend starting out with as a basic setup for both still shots and video?

Ever just use a point and shoot on occasion, if so what's recommended there?

Always love the shots you guys take, break down the creation of your some of your favorite shots, what's done in photoshop and what settings you use on the cameras.

84

what is essential when taking pictures of cars racing or etc...

85

Thank you Speedhunter photographers. You really give me inspiration (and sometime pure depression, when I compare yours and mine).

Some of the shots are really cinematographical pieces, love the 16:9 croping. Spectacular things!, sometimes I compare with Top Gear (they do it with moving images, you guys are doing with still images). Your photographs aren't usual carshow/magazine style informational, but more like emotional.Probably why I am frequent visitor.

Total respect, love your work

Apologies in advance. . .

But. . .

Most o the questions here are just lack of googleing.

Aperture and shutter is not a black magic. Take a trip to your local library, hire few photography (doesn't matter whether digital or film) books and read'em. Take your camera put it into manual mode and start practicing. Lack of lightness = bigger aperture (smaller number eg 4.5-4.0-3.5-2.8 so on) and longer shutter speed ( eg 1/30; 1/15; (less than that usually needs steady stand (read: tripod ...)) and bigger ISO number. Too big ISO means more noise, means uglier picture. You can reduce ISO noise in Photoshop/Lightroom/Capture one . . . but it also reduces some of the necessary detail. And when you have a shiny day - vice versa.

Just give it a try. And about the consumer advice questions. However expensive kit you have - it won't do any pointing and shooting operations itself, it won't frame the shot itself. You - the user is doing that job - and it matters.

If you have a DSLR (actually I would suggest you to buy your first one used. You get it at least 50% less

expensive. And do you really need few extra megapixels, if you won't print them over A3 ever?

Also I cannot suggest KIT lens. Pay few extra and you get much better imaging, aperture and so on.

Also extra flash is useful, because built-in flash is built in by a satan. You get flat pictures. ugly. Maybe better, if you use fader (eg sheet of white paper, it really saves some situtuations) but still, no use at all.

I suggest you to think, where you are going to shoot. And then decide, if you really need DSLR, most of cases ususal soap-box takes good enough pictures.

Practice makes perfect.

Most of cases - just look, what you are going to photograph - maybe is horizon unparallel, maybe is there someones leg or hand sticking out, or you cut guys elbow accidently out of picture, or in event shoot, beside the oldschool dragster - there is a ugly blue plastictoilet ,)

86

Hi Speedhunters,

my Question is: How to get the right gear?

This may seem trivial, but I got a main problem. I am working with a little "Bridge" Cam, bought for 200$. I finally can get really awesome shots with that poor equipment, like my SLR722 trackaction one (see it on my flickr stream).

Well, but now i reached the limit of my cam. If a shot´s envrioment isn´t perfect, I just can´t get any good photo. Friends of mine do get a lot of cash for buying new "toys", and so they all work with 50D´s etc. but I simply don´t have just a thousand euros or more in my pocket. That really bores me cause I got the biggest talent in photographing of all my friends but they usually get the better results because of their 1,5k equipment payed by daddy. What shall I do? I´m really at a loss.

Greetz, I hope you can show me the way,

Freddy

87

Maybe I could ask,

How big is the relation between shots taken and shots successful (shots you would like to publish)

and also the question about the luck? Is it so that you theorize through the sunrise/dawn angles and point of views on track - and then go on track shooting-with full homework don and confidence what comes next. Or you just use you gut-feeling and emotional state and luck?

Maybe it would be fun to read some of the shots you just memorize because of the story behind the shot?

88

Any tips on how to ignore the laws of physics and bend light however you want to?

89

lol @ all the "how do you do it, Linhbergh?!" questions. hahaha

90

how do you guys take photos and make the cars look like little toys?

91

How do I photoshop a Rig out of a photo? Do you guys have any tips/tutorials for Lightroom 3?

I've been shooting extreme sports for a while now, got a few publications, did a bit of commercial work. Not too bad for someone who never read a book or took a course. :P I've been planning on shooting some drifting and stuff like that. Just got to find the time.

Couple more questions.

How the hell do I market myself? Seems like you have to have an MBA now to get into the photography buisness.

And.

Should I switch? I'm currently Using a D300. I would go fullframe but I have no $ for it. I'm thinking of selling and goiing for the 7d.

ARG

Thanks guys!

Cheers!

92

Some form of basic guide to shooting cars. Preferred lens choices and manual settings to get someone started?

93

It may have been asked already, but what I would like to know is what techniques you use in your post production? Is there much pp involved in your photos? or is it simply just small adjustments?

thanks

Oscar

94

Big fan of Mr.Linhbergh's awesome work! I'd love to learn from the man!

95

98

How do I get into the motorsport photography industry. I have been doing photography for 3 or so years now. I want to do what you guys do. I am 17, how do I get into it?

99

100

Please, up the exif with the photos!

All the team of SH use Canon?

101

Do u use filters? And what kind of lenses mostly ( for drifing )? Also:

How do u feel, when ppl says u guys have AAAAWESOME photos ^^?

102

I have been a great fan of Linhbergh's work. So many shots are near complete pieces of art.

What I would like to know is the way you work with light and what kind of processing you do?

The shots from the Lambo in the Silverstone pits, the start of the Sebring 12 hours, the many Miata pics on Clubroadster and so on.

Can I have a view on the tricks you pull out of those Art Pants?

Teach me please!

Thanks, Mat

103

How do you go about getting in-front of the fence? I realise that now this may come with ease as you have the speedhunters name to get you in but what about when you were starting out on your own?

104

Any suggestions on how to do good rolling shots and overall great automotive shots?

105

I'm a starter. Tell me please what are the common mistakes in these photos

http://picasaweb.google.ru/114401098712658631403/DriftWorks#

106

I've got Sony Alpha 300 with Sigma 18-200 and a Cir-Pol Hoya filter. What do you thing about it at shooting cars. What are yout suggestion about lens? And, do you always use aps like photoshop on your photos?

107

Dear speedhunters,

on the topic of photography, I'd love for you guys to discuss lens filters. I realize this might be a little over some readers heads but, imo it's the single most important thing for a photographer to carry. Especially in mid-daylight where most racing takes place. Anything from cheap-o UV filters to neutral density filters.

Thanks,

-Jay

p.s. sorry if this has been covered, didn't feel like reading through all the comments. :p

108

We do not realize the importance of the images until the subject of one of the images passes on and then we are left with nothing but the memories. It’s a great idea that there are sites like this one where we can freely ask questions and leave comments to learn more about photography and its importance.

109

First off you guys got a killer blog going on, I'm just a Artist/Freelance Photographer who shots for myself really.

I was wondering how you guys go about getting press credentials for races like Formula D or a GT series race, and even events like Hot Import Nights?

Do you have your own press pass from like IFPO or PictureStock.com?

Does that help in getting into events?

I have a camera manufacturer related question: Do DSLRs by Nikon and Canon really have technology which is far beyond DSLRs by manufacturers like Olympus, Pentax, and Sony Apha??? Or is it just a brand loyalty that the names have developed. I'm asking because I have always been a diehard fan of Olympus film SLRs but I'm hesitant to buy my first DSLR as an Olympus DSLR (like the E620) because not many people invest in those nowadays. Everyone seems to have a Nikon or a Canon. So are they really better and have technology which make them a better investment?

Hey, can you give out some tips for shooting cars (or moving objects in general for people who don't have super high tech gear, ex: I have a Sony Alpha 230 beginner DSLR. Just some pointers on how to get good quality shots in manual mode would be great.
