im curious, not being sarcastic... do people get any rewards for being the first to get a certain time with a certain car on the drag strip? or is it just bragging rights?

annoying how its called "worlds first 9 sec GTR" because its not even close. GTRs having been pulling better than 9s sine the 90's. and a little bit fresh with the "quickest AND fastest" caption lol

Some of the previous posts definitely deserve a complete *eye roll*. I'm pretty sure what they meant by "world's first 9 sec GT-R" is the R35 chassis.
As far as tuner smarts goes, last I checked AMS had quite a bit of know how when it came to Time Attack cars as well. Maybe the owner of the GT-R just happens to like drag racing, it is the East Coat after all.
Besides all that, Time Attack is slowly starting to pick up steam and gain more popularity. It's good for the industry and good for the fans.
AMS rocks plain and simple! There Texas standing mile car went 222mph before having a mechanical failure! That is twin turbo Ford GT and Porsche GT-3 killing territory!
