I was looking back through old January 2009 posts and just realized that at this time last year, we were covering the start of the Dakar desert raid race. A quick google of the word “Dakar” and low and behold I realized that the race was starting today!

das crazy how u got that schedule intuition...must have been a cool race
man i looked up dakar on youtube ...that big truck stage is crazy
Where are the trucks?
Its a shame Dakar is missing "Mister Dakar" Jan de Rooy tough... Dakar isnt the same without him and we are also missing out on Hans Stacey. I hope Tony van Dijne in the ex-fabricteam Mitsubishi get get into the Top 10 at the cars league...
I don´t think the dutchies are going to show off this year... Such a shame Stacey isn't there to stop those damn Kamaz'!
dakar is never gonna be the same without mitsubishi.
Only Krzysztof Holowczyc in JDM car (Nissan) is in TOP 10 nice
woot!
.
good luck to Sainz this year! hopefully he can make it to the podium
YES!! I was lucky enough to interview Marc Coma last year - a rally racer through and through. Keep those Dakar updates rolling.
Nasser Al-Attiyah FTW!! That man KILLS IT. He would have done very well last year but he got a DQ for cutting the course.
Damn Versus and the delays. Remember when There was live US TV coverage during the day and a recap for the evening? I didn't know how lucky I was...
I download everyday from Eurosport. I'd never ruin the Dakar with American TV.
I still have 30+gbs from the 2009 race.
GO KAMAZ!
WTF?!? Where are the trucks? It's the most interestin' class. Fail =(
