Random Snap>> Rogue Drifter

To this day I remain adamant that Ford were the real creators of drifting, from the Escorts through to the Cosworths, they made sliding cool long before we put a name on it.

I present to you Exhibit D, Pat McDonaghs road legal Prodrift Series car, the Ford Sierra Cosworth.

It just looks so at home travelling on opposite lock.

Also called Merkur XR4ti in the States.

Only the Cosworths are way, way cooler than the XR4ti.... The presence is just so much more. I would own a Sierra or Escort Cosworth in a heartbeat, it's the only Ford I've ever truly, completely 100% loved with no gripes.

3

Well what about the old school celicas from toyota that competed with the ford cosworth and escorts =) pretty bad ass picture nonetheless!

4

Thing is bananas. Instantly one of my most favorite pictures on here now.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I was amazed to hear the term "drifting" in this Dutch clip from 1971. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIezUcvgI7I

DRIFTING ISN4T NEW AT ALL.

Back in the days where radial tyres were still a dream, in order to go the fastest you had to make the car slide a bit during the corner.

And RALLYING, It started with 2WD (FR) so drifting there was natural and necessary (gravel or snow)

24

more pics of it anywhere

25

hahahaha you kids are amusing. great car.

26

just a simply beautiful car!

27

I find it highly amusing how all the JDM bummers seem to think that opposite lock was invented by the Japanese...

28

All jdm fanbois need to silence their heathen mouths and bow to the awesomeness that is the Cosworth!

and this is coming from someone who drives an S13 on coils and welded diff and loves it to death...
