Photos Of The Year 2009>> Trigger Happy: Rod’s Shots Pt3

Speedhunters has been an amazing feast of photography so far this month! I'm quite enjoying seeing the team's best photos from this past year as it gives you a sense of our combined automotive passions… Anyway let's keep looking at my own snaps from 2009.

Rosenberg, Texas, USA: Some people like bagged cars, while others have philosophical problems with them… But I don't think any of you can deny the visual weight these cars carry when dropped to the floor.

Formula D, Irwindale Speedway, California, USA: Tyler McQuarrie gets set to qualify at Irwindale. Note the camera stuck to his helmet there…

4 & Rotary Nationals, Auckland, New Zealand: More Rotary madness from Down Under!

BMW Museum, Munich, Germany: A peek into the "M" display at the BMW Museum.

SO-Cal Speedshop, Pomona, California, USA: Jimmy Shine's latest project car. I wonder if it's finished now?

Bonneville Speed Week, Wendover, Utah, USA: It's likely these clouds will show up in Linhbergh's best of 2009 photos too!

Formula D, Irwindale Speedway, California, USA: Matt Powers probably can't believe just how well things were going for him at Irwindale this past October. It's amazing how much momentum he has behind him right now. Let's hope his 2010 season goes even better.

Formula D, Wall Speedway, New Jersey, USA: On the start line during FD qualifying in New Jersey.

Driver's Hot Rods, Seattle, Washington, USA: More rolling art at Driver's.

ALMS Petit Le Mans, Road Atlanta, Braselton, Georgia, USA: It was a proud moment for me to see the Speedhunters logo attached to the BMW M3 GT2 at Petit Le Mans. We've come a long way in a very short period of time!

Formula D, Evergreen Speedway, Seattle, Washington, USA: The Falken Girls chat amongst themselves while Tyler and Darren have their minds on more serious matters.

BMW NA Mobile Tradition Collection, Columbus, Ohio, USA: To hell with photos of the year! Shooting this car was one of the highlights of my entire life!

Monza Circuit Infield, Milan, Italy: A group of Italian JDM enthusiasts meet the Speedhunters at Monza Circuit.

Autosport Show, Birmingham, UK: A race spec Lotus Elise sitting pretty on some SSRs at the Autosport Show in the UK.

Shelby Automotive, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA: Two complete Shelby Cobras await delivery to their new homes.

Formula D, Long Beach, California, USA: Ken Gushi will likely look back on 2009 as his great comeback year. Perhaps the red head lights were a good luck charm?

Access Zero 42, Houston, Texas: A dropped E30 showing us how Texans do things.

Drift Mania West, Western Speedway, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada: Some Canadian drift style courtesy of the Neptune D crew.

ALMS Long Beach GP, Long Beach, California, USA: Low and wide is how we like our cars and Porsche seem to have this all figured out with their RSR racer. I just wish they made street cars which looked as mean as this machine.

Formula D, Irwindale Speedway, California, USA: The elusive Forrest Wang's amazing S14.5 made quite the impact at Irwindale 2009.

Drift Mania West, Western Speedway, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada: I love racing action shots where the car is very small in the frame. This is a perfect example of the use of negative space in framing.

BMW Classic Collection, Munich, Germany: Dino Dalle Carbonare checks out the clear coated layer of grime which BMW has preserved from the 1999 Le Mans 24Hs. It's great to see they are expanding their GT racing activities in 2010.

Bonneville Speed Week, Wendover, Utah, USA: this is the only way to do Bonneville… you bring your competition car, but you also bring a hot rod too for cruising the salt and the Wendover Casinos!

More soon!

Picture 4, Peak in BMW Museum, I like the contrast in colors. It actually looks like two pictures in one in two different color contrasts.
