In case you haven’t seen it, here’s Ken Block’s latest Gymkhana video – featuring an appearance by his buddy Rob Drydek.

I actually found myself laughing out loud several times during this one.

Nice job!

Nice lol

Very funny

2

Lol Rob ... will we see Ken on a skateboard now?

3

considering the unpredictable handling of that little thing, i'm surprised the worst that happened was a little bump, i also laughed quite a bit yesterday watching this

4

Rob is funny as hell

5

I saw this last night.....2 super good dudes. hilarious video!!!!

6

I don't think i like this ken block shindig. Yeah great driving and all, but suddenly everyone's a car expert. I hear no end of it at work and it's doing my head in.

And now MTV is in on it. prepare for a sitcom featuring ken block or something.

7

i cant say nothing... baaaazmeg

8

Rob almost got deleted!!!

nice vid.

10

WOW!! This is was funny even with no volume at work!! Haha

11

LOL oh crap

i just watched this episode like an hour ago on the dvr

funny show

funny clip

i want a cart like Robs....i would have so much fun in that thing

12

Ya I was watching this last night on Rob's show at my buddies because they are MTV zombies and I came to a grand realization. Ken Block belongs on MTV! I am sure all the reality show watching, mainstream music listening hippies will just eat this stuff up time and again. I mean don't get me wrong, Ken always delivers a good show; and that is exactly why he should just pack up and move into the stunt driving business since it seems like that is all he is good for. He couldn't hack it in real motorsport so why bother? I think where this guy needs to be is Vegas, doing live gymkhana shows for the rest of his life so that he can be an internet star and a Vegas show star, two things all serious drivers can respect lol.

13

I agree with you there, Isaac, I just wish there was a way that it'd act a little more like a car, for drifting! lol. Imagine how much fun that'd be drifting that thing with a full car shell of your choice. Man, I think I'm on to something... *evil eyebrows*

14

lol. they shoulda given rob a real shifter cart with an impreza body thrown on so that he coulda kept up a little bit.

15

Block and Dyrdek should call up Fisher-Price to make that thing a Power Wheels.

16

"He couldn't hack it in real motorsport so why bother?"

F3INT, your an idiot. Block is a beast, have you ever seen him on a stage?

18 podiums w/ 7 over all wins, I'll admit that Block's has the absolute worst luck w/ his cars mechanical & he totals quite a few of those Subarus, but you know why? cause the guy goes flat out, I've had the pleasure of watching Block drive on a stage four separate times and he doesn't pussy foot around like some of the "other" open class drivers. As a spectator I would rather watch a driver go balls out then a driver play it safe and win.

17

I never liked Ken Block.....such a poser. Don't get me wrong, he knows how to sell shoes, but that's about it.

Send him to Europe to compete in the real WRC and he'd get murdered; but since here in the US a lot of people appreciate Hollywood-action stuff.....I guess this clown belong in the right place.

Funny video nontheless.

18

Does anyone remember the Carebears growing up? Does anyone remember the bear with the cloud on his stomach? I think grumpy bear was his name. Alex you remind me of him 99.9% of the time, is that weird?

I know Ken very well, He is a huge fan of rally and a bigger fan of fun. He would be the first to tell you about the level of RA vs WRC and how he would fair in WRC, he know where he stands as a driver. Give him some time to get his consistency together and I imagine you will eat your words. Bottom line he is passionate about what he does, drives hard wrecks some cars and has alot of fun (sounds familiar). You seriously are going to knock a dude for that.....oh wait I forgot who I was talking to... Carry on friend!

19

Alex ma boy... Did you even bother to check the results in the rallies he takes part on? Go check wikipedia, and be surprised.

Of course he'd get creamed on WRC, that's why he's still racing Rally America, but he IS going to take part in a few WRC races it seems. So maybe we'll see if he's all show or not.

Anyways, if you can't beat 'em, don't thrash-talk 'em pls k thx. (goes for F3INT as well).

20

JR commented as i was writing and seems like we're thinking alike xD

LoL @ Carebears but true ^__^

21

Yeah, man! Damn right, Vaughn.

I noticed that the presence and number of the "internet warriors" has been growing a lot lately here on SPEEDHUNTERS. Would u people please go hating somewhere else? This is a website about automotive passion and culture from around the globe where us gearheads can learn stuff and enjoy ourselves while doing it. The people handling this site are working hard to bring u up to date features from around the globe so we can all get the content for free and u childish "internet warriors" come about and bring your trash behavior down here. Clearly your manners are at a low and you respect is non-existent, from multiple and various reasons. So please, either go to some forum and "fight" your "internet wars" all u want or just be more considerate and respectful towards the tastes and styles of others and there hard work.

In the end this is what Speedhunters is all about, automotive style and hard work.

Really funny video!! Thanks for all the wonderful content and effort, SPEEDHUNTERS!

22

from my side I find Alex to be an important member of the Speedhunters audience. Sure he has a very specific outlook, but does know a lot about cars. I also do appreciate it when he does give positive feedback on a story... it does mean a lot as this guy is tough to please!

He's one of the regulars at this stage... and I do like when we have good discussions on Speedhunters. Often Alex is someone that gets some good conversations going!

23

Didn't necesarily refer to Alex, of course good critiques are also welcome, otherwise it wouldn't make much sence. I was just reminded in a way about those few people that commented in the previous posts in a very inconsiderate and brutal manner without at least a minimum of regard towards the opinions of others or towards the hard work of those involved in the features, from u guys here at SH to the guys that put there efforts into making the cars we all get to see in the pictures. I mean, tuning a car isn't exacly like in NFS where u just select the parts and hit ENTER. It takes loads of work and involvement and money, blood, sweat and tears as the saying goes. So if u don't like some dude's ride or style and don't really or can't really respect him for his style, at least do so for the work he or she has put into that car. It all comes down to some respect. That's my only and main point.

24

Is it me or is Ken Blocks Gymkhana videos getting worse? The First one was by far the best as it was just him & his imprezza dring crazy drifts! now they seem tobe having random things in them! :(

25

Gittin speak for yourself....

your another sell out. i mean your a very talented drifter though no argument there but DC shoes are pretty ****

27

Aha good point Chris. The Speedhunters audience is considerably larger now that is was say 6 months ago so this might have something to do with the feeling of keyboard warriorism that we see these days...

The Speedhunters audience overall is a tough crowd, but we still do try and keep a read on the feel of the audience and make sure that we are producing stories that mostly get positive responses.

28

Thanks for taking my side and saying all these kind words Rod; let me try and defend myself first.

Yes, I am VERY tough to please. I've seen A LOT out there (much more than most people here combined will ever see).

Here is my $.02 in regard to my very-often-negative-attitude:

I see Speedhunters trying its best to be the best (as far as delivering good-quality news to the masses). There is nothing wrong with that. With that though (trying to please the crowd) comes expectation and pressure. You put yourself in the spot light? Be ready to be judged.

To give you an example; the other day Rod posted an excellent article about Rahal BMW......then a few days later some dude posted an article about an average BMW meet in Germany.....and there, the quality of the content, the expectation....just fell. No info to be learned, no insight on anything, not even decent pictures (not that I care too much, but some people do).

Sorry to be so cynical, but there are BMW meets like that ALL over the globe every day....and that post just let me down (then again, Speedhunters CAN'T please everyone).

Then Rod brings back the expectation when he posts stuff from Pagani Zonda in Italy (again, an excellent article).

There are few contibutors on this site who never let me down. There are others that disappoint me all the time (not my taste, but that's ok).

And now the Ken Block drama. I think Mike Garrett is an excellent photographer and journalist. I read his stuff and for the most part I am very satisfied.

I just CAN'T digest Ken Block as he likes to be perceived by the media. No doubt he's an excellent business man, but as far as rally career and his accomplishment....please! Not to mention his rockstar attitude he has when there is an event.

How many of you watched the X-Games at the LA Colliseum? Dave Mirra (excellent BMX'er.....trying to rally? WTF I say....stay where you belong...in the BMX world)....same thing with Brian Deegan, the honcho of Metal Mulisha (stay on your dirt bike and go jump some dune I say). I see a pattern here. Travis Pastrana moved to rally racing a while ago....made some talk....and now everyone wants a slice of the pie. They want media coverage....they want $$$$$$$$.....and they fail....just a bunch of sell outs; Ken Block is no different. Like they say, $$ talks.

That's where my anger comes from. These peeps shouldn't be in the industry.

And as far as your comments Mr. Gittin...you remind me of Yogi Bear......stop stealing so many picnic baskets......race car drivers are FIT! they work-out on a regular basis and have a strict regimented diet. When was the last time you saw a 220 lbs racecar driver piloting a WRC car?

29

Alex-igonorance is bliss my friend. Nobody on this site or anywhere needs your personal approval with regards to what they post or who they are as a person. I was simply pointing out your annoying cloudy attitude, that probably any local speedhunters would agree on. You obviously have no clue what your talking about with regards to any matters mentioned above about me or any of the other athletes.Ever heard about not judging a book by its cover? As Far as my Fitness I do enjoy my picnic/Crab baskets and I am more physically and mentally fit now then when I was at 180 lbs."Hey BOO BOO" give this dude a hug.

I cant believe I have even stooped to this level of having a half of an internet argument, Im just tired of the thunder storms and clouds.

30

Im a diehard enthusiast to the bone. I love speedhunters and all their coverage. I cant think of any place else on the internet that caters to the hardcore more than this site. Do I like everything...no, so I just dont read the write up. And as far as all these pro athletes going rally racing..who cares. If thats what they want to do AWESOME. These dudes are getting, there looking to get there adrenaline fix without killing themselves and I say rallying's a good substitute. They gotta pay the bills too just like us, they just have way more fun doing it, I wish i could wake up in the morning and say gee what kind of crazy shit could I do in my 500hp subaru today....im sure any of us would like that. BTW Alex..u say Block has no skills, go jump in a subaru and do segway doughnuts for a lil while since there so easy : X In the end their all just having fun ....and getting paid.

31

Let me just say, I've been stalking Speedhunters and some other "lesser" blogs for a while now, and this is the first time I've wanted to comment! I see all those so-called "Keyboard Warriors" tossing in their .02 cents, and I often just let their words in on one ear, out the other. Most often I agree that these morons are just a waste of time and energy, but I can definitely appreciate a good discussion. Regarding the Alex vs Vaughn re: Ken Block issue, both fellas have valid points. Block is a decent driver, and still has time to mature. Given the right opportunity, he might actually rise to the occassion and be successful is WRC. However, his approach to the "culture" isn't as discreet as say, a F1 driver tries to hide from the media. That's for a good reason. The F1 driver gets paid outrageous amounts of dinero and probably doesn't need anything else. Block on the other hand, probably gets a fraction of what the other guy gets, either from Subaru, sponsorships, and other endorsements. And he isn't Michael Jordan. In my opinion, Block is taking advantage of his "Rock Star" status, and is trying to reel in as much of the goods as he possibly can while he's hot. Whoever takes a bite will probably see returns until his fame dies out. That includes MTV, Monster, DC, and whoever else is involved. I really can't blame the guy for trying to market himself, especially in American motorsports where media coverage is highly coveted. Only when you see yourself all over pop culture is when you start getting paid the grande dinero. I did enjoy the verbal exchange between these two. Yogi. Hehehehey Booboo.

32

I realize there are a lot of people on here who scoff at any comment from a "hater" but Alex is right; if you are going to publish articles for the masses then prepare for judgment which entails all forms of criticism good or bad. I should be able to call Block an MTV loving YouTube sellout without being flamed for it just because some Ken Block fanboy gets all offended when someone insults his idol. A lot of people here seem to automatically "hate on the haters," when in fact you are being the hater by attempting to snuff out someone's right to free speech whether it be speech you agree with or not. I never said that Block was a bad driver, but when you try to market yourself as some badass superman CEO/Pro Driver/Media Star then you really should be able to do more than make a thousand different Gymkhana videos. The second video was full of over the top show stunts and the latest one linked to above was basically a short repeat of past stunts, like the 360 slides through the hangar which were done on every video so far except this time it's different, because Rob was there with a go kart doing the same thing!!! It reminds me of the fake Scorcher previews before Tropic Thunder, it is just the same washed up stunt driving and I stand by my assertion that Block should move this act to Vegas. If he really is interested in just making money like it seems than this seems like a profitable venture no?

33

Criticizing and sharing an opinion is one thing. Prejudging a persons motives, character and integrity is a whole other.

Seriously.....all of this over 2 dudes having a good time and sharing it??? Hilarious.

"If your not hated your not loved" Benjamin Franklin

34

I agree with JR here... this is just a funny little video and it not really worth getting too worked up about IMO!

35

Alex are you a driver? I highly doubt it.....Jealousy will get you nowhere. You are a self glorified auto fan boy on the couch or in front of a screen.....Your impact on motorsports as a self proclaimed "enthusiast" means shite! I'm sure you think otherwise...Keep dreaming buddy! You'll always be on the sidelines and not in the trenches....You have to be depressed.

36

I think I mentioned it before that this video is funny nonetheless.

@jDUB: Do you know me? No, really! I wouldn't make any comments if I were you.

And who says I am a hater? Are you a hater? I simply said, I don't like Ken Block's attitude toward this scene.....that's all.

39

The Benny Hill music thing was epic. good one!

40

I think we should settle this once and for all... let Alex do a feature article, and we can all be the judge of its quality. Shouldn't be too hard for you Alex, considering you are such a coniseur of automobiles, and articles about them?

41

@Alex

from Alex.. "@jDUB: Do you know me? No, really! I wouldn't make any comments if I were you."

So wait you don't like to be prejudged by people that don't know you?? Seems a bit hypocritical to me???? jDub knows you just as well as you know any of the athletes above you have bashed, why is Jdub wrong in "Alex world"?

"I simply said, I don't like Ken Block's attitude toward this scene.....that's all. "

Really?????? I believe the words used were Sellout, Clown and poser.

Forget the feature article, there's no doubt he halfway knows some cars. I wanna see Alex produce a halfway interesting video with him behind the wheel, if he can't he has to turn into a Speedhunter's mute... fair enough?

I would have much rather had these conversations via phone or in person. Since I'm sure that could have never happened it had to be done here on the internet where it will unfortunatley live forever. I like to hope this helped someone out there figure something out or will in the future.

42

Alex..I don't know you....That's my point....You have no impact on the motorsports world....Good or Bad...So you are the clown my friend...Should I be afraid? Let me think........................................................................not at all :) Cheers dork!

43

I don't know what's going on from the last 3 months, but the attitude of the people that comments has changed a lot.

Before, most of the people were sharing their thoughts and opinions in a constructive basis, with respect for the cars, their owner, the speedhunter's staff and the people commenting. Now I see repressed teenagers, full of envy and bad manners, with no sense of politeness or respect for other people's opinion, just showing how "badass" they are.

I don't know if because now I'm over 30 I'm getting old and tired of this shit, but how can you criticized someone's work regarding cars and call yourself car-enthusiast? I don't get it.

Respect is everything is this life, and respect is earned with showing respect for others, even when you don't like them.

I'm not going to say any names, but most of you look like you are trying to get the attention that you don't get in the real world. Chill out! Speedhunters is one of the most updated blogs, so there are enough articles for everyone. If it's not your case, find any other place to share your bad manners.

P.d.: Apologize for my English, but it is not my mother tongue.

44

Sadly n1rt_duncan when we use keyboards we often say things which we'd never, ever say in real life. Manners is something which goes out the window...

anyway let's move on guys! We love you all!
