Air-cooled VW’s certainly aren’t one of the world’s most popular circuit racing platforms, but don’t tell that to the people in Japan who compete in the Y’s Cup series. This clip was recorded inside a race-prepped ’71 Bug owned by a fellow named Yusuke. The video is a bit long, but make sure you watch the first few laps as he battles it out with a second generation Chevy Camaro (muscle cars also compete in the Y’s Cup). It’s quite interesting watching vintage German and American machinery going at it on a Japanese circuit.
