Was browsing Ziptied this morning when I found this incredible video clip from this weekend’s NASCAR race in Las Vegas. Not only does driver Jamie McMurray avoid a crash with a long drift on the bank, but Formula D driver and Speedhunter Vaughn Gittin Jr. was even mentioned by the announcers on TV during their commentary.
Even if you don’t like NASCAR, the video is pretty awesome to watch!

At first when they showed the small clip of him sliding, I was like... ok, a lil slide, cool. Then they show him drifting damn near the whole sweeper. Sick!

D1 and FD need to step up their game. 102mph initiations at the Red Bull World Championships are nothing compared to this!
imma call luck and quick response on that one.. that usually doesnt happen in nascar.. he was tapped in the rear and he instantly was able to not loose it, typically they would loose it. Good stuff tho.

The new car has made it a lot more common for these guys to save slides. It must have something to do with having an actual wing on the back of the car instead of a spoiler. McMurray is one of the better road racers in NASCAR so it makes sense that he knew what do do when it came time to turn the wheel to the right.
